Michael Palmer Books
Best-selling medical thriller author and physician. 1942-2013. http://bit.ly/T5wMZx
Today marks the tenth anniversary of my father's death. Ten years have passed in the blink of an eye, yet when I look back, so much has changed in our family, personally and professionally. We've all grown, shifted, adapted, gone on, and done so with him in our hearts. He continues to be a source of gratitude and loving remembrance in the good times and a place of solace and support when the lights are dim. While we miss his spark and spirit, I remain forever grateful for what he taught me, and the times we've shared. We're on a train in this picture, heading to ThrillerFest VI in New York City. Two short years later, he'll be gone.
My father is best known for his books and wild imagination, but I'm sure what he would most want us to remember him for how he was of service to others. It's a shining example for me to adopt as I continue to follow his light.
Many thanks and blessings for your kindness and caring over the years.
Michael Stephen Palmer, 10/9/1943 - 10/30/2013
Peace and love to all.

Who here read MERCY? ;) Might have been a little ahead of its time.
Red meat allergy caused by ticks is an 'emerging public health concern': CDC New CDC studies show alpha-gal syndrome (AGS), a red meat allergy caused by tick bites, is an "emerging public health concern" that's likely underdiagnosed by clinicians.
How often does this happen? A father and his sons hanging out on a shelf at Barnes & Noble. Pretty righteous. 😎 This photo was taken on this day nine years ago and it’s of our dad’s last book 😢
As many here are aware, I later wrote three Michael Palmer medical thrillers (Trauma, Mercy & The First Family), so thanks to you his work continued on, at least in spirit. With Matthew Palmer
PS Brother Matt is now Deptuty Chief of Mission, Embassy London, so if you’ve seen The Diplomat on Netflix, he’s doing Ato Essandoh/Stuart Hayford’s job. And the paperback of my last book, MY WIFE IS MISSING came out yesterday! That’s it for the Palmer update for now!
Sending goodwill to all!!

I don’t see it. 😂 Oh, DNA 🧬! 😆 Happy Father’s to the legend and to all the dads out there, those who are here; and those with us now in spirit. Sending goodwill to all! -DJ Palmer Author
Seven years ago today, MERCY nabbed this nifty starred review from Publisher’s Weekly. I’m forever grateful for your support that allowed me to carry on my father’s legacy for a time. Truly a privilege and an honor. Thank you all!
If there’s such thing as the multiverse, perhaps there is one where this amazing man, Michael Palmer, got to celebrate his 80th birthday with his family and friends. But in this universe, sadly we can think of him in spirit, but also recall the many lives he blessed, mine included. It was a privilege and honor to interview him at a writer’s conference some years ago. The laughs from that day still reverberate in my ears. He may be gone from this world, but his presence lingers and his generous spirit continues to shine bright. So happy 80th Pop! You are loved and missed, and I send you love, good energy, and deep gratitude for all you’ve done to help guide my way.

10 things my father taught me about life:
1. How to play the blues (hint: start by hearing the changes)
2. Smile when life gives me lemons or lemonade--a life philosophy he summed with his favorite pithy saying: "Higgy piggy."
3. Appreciate Bruce Lee and David Carradine but for different reasons
4. To take it one day at time.
5. Not to judge my insides to other people's outsides.
6. Being of service to others really is the best way to be.
7. That I'm not a bad person just because my SCUBA dive partner decided to ditch me (I was 13 he was 55) and ended up caught in a current until a helicopter luckily happened to spot him bobbing on the ocean surface two miles out to sea, headed for Bimini.
8. That standard shift cars are not ideal for taking a drivers license test. PS, there wasn't much damage to the other vehicle.
9. If you can't laugh at yourself you're missing out some potentially great entertainment.
10.The best story I'm writing is my own.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads still with us, and to the ones we keep forever in our hearts.
