This National Health Center Week, we're celebrating our network of 13 community health centers (CHCs) in Boston, Quincy, Taunton, and Winthrop.
Primary care patients at CHCs have access to highly trained specialists and cutting-edge technology at BMC while getting individualized and culturally relevant care in their neighborhood. Our partnerships ensure that expert clinicians, innovative research, and preventive care are available at CHCs and throughout our neighborhoods.

Thank you to UnitedHealthcare for providing the Fresh truck for our staff. We appreciate the ongoing partnership!
DotHouse wishes everyone a very Happy National Health Center Week 2024 (NHCW)!
In honor of NHCW, we had a special visit from Dr. Kyu Rhee, President & CEO of the National Association of Community Health Centers, to start off the week! Dr. Rhee toured our facility and we had the opportunity to highlight our services and programs to him! We appreciate the opportunity Dr. Rhee!
As a reminder, NHCW is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. This year’s National Health Center Week theme focuses on empowering communities by connecting them with health centers and elected officials from all levels of government.
We will be hosting several event for staff and patients throughout the week in honor of NHCW. Stay on the lookout!
Please join the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) Committe as we proudly celebrate and honor the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)!
Today, July 26th, 2024, marks the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act passage, which prohibits discrimination based on disability status in everyday public and private settings. In 2015, the month of July was officially deemed “Disability Pride” month in honor to celebrate the act’s 25th anniversary.
Disability Pride Month honors, celebrates, and sheds light around the achievements and resilience of the disability community. This month is meant to empower society to normalize disability and to advocate for inclusion and accessibility for all people.
As a gentle reminder, according to the ADA, a disability is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a person from performing a major life activity. 1 in 4 adults in the U.S. has a disability of some sort. Disabilities can be congenital (since birth) or acquired (developed during the person’s lifetime); they can also be temporary or permanent. Disabilities can be visible or invisible, which emphasizes the importance of never assuming someone can or cannot perform a certain activity solely based off of their appearance.
At DotHouse Health, we are making a conscious choice to be intentional about creating an environment where everyone can feel psychologically safe by embracing our diverse staff and building an inclusive culture where everyone’s voice is valued, feels a sense of belonging, and empowered to do their best work.
This is why it is especially important to recognize this day and month, as well as ensure constant advocacy and action for enhancing accessibility. We want to make sure our staff and patients feel included, supported, and accommodated for every step of the way.
DotHouse Health will be closed for all services, including Urgent Care, on Thursday, July 25th from 8:30am to 10:00am.

Pride month is celebrated every year in the month of June. It’s an important time to reflect on how far we’ve come in recognizing, supporting, and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community.
It’s also an opportune time to celebrate and raise awareness for the experiences of those who identify as LGBTQIA+. During Pride Month it's important to acknowledge the many contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community to history, cultures, and society.
At DotHouse we remain committed to create an inclusive environment for all patients, staff, and community members. NO EXCEPTIONS!

DotHouse is proud to celebrate and honor Juneteenth! On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas, with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree.
This day came to be known as “Juneteenth,” by the newly freed people in Texas. Juneteenth marks our country’s second independence day. Although it has been long celebrated in the African American community, this monumental event remains largely unknown to most Americans.
Today we celebrate freedom, and commemorate the historical strength, courage and impact of African Americans across our communities.
Happy Juneteenth! DotHouse Health is proud to co-sponsor the 5th Annual Dorchester Juneteenth Rally. There will be food, live music, an art table, vendors, and family fun.
The event will take place today at Town Field Dorchester (1565 Dorchester Avenue) from 1:00pm to 6:00pm, Wednesday, June 19th.

HIV Long-Term Survivors (HLTS) represent a diverse group of people, including people diagnosed with HIV before the advent of Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) in 1996, people who have been living with HIV for over 10 years, and people born with HIV or who acquired the virus as babies and have also lived with HIV for decades.
DotHouse offers HIV education, testing, treatment and counseling to all members of the community. Learn more about our comprehensive HIV/Care services at DotHouse: http://dothousehealth.org/services/hiv_services.html
May is Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM). DotHouse proudly joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health. We will continue to fight stigma, provide support, and educate our staff, patients, and community members while advocating for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness.
We encourage all staff to do self-care and reach out to their behavioral health provider or call a friend for support with whichever situation you may be dealing with. Don’t suffer in silence. You are not alone and there is support available to you.
As we May comes to an end, DotHouse continues to celebrate and honor Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month! This month is an opportunity to recognize the many ways Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander histories, cultures, leadership, and innovation have influenced all facets of life in the United States.
This year, the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center have established a joint theme for AAPI Heritage Month: “Bridging Histories, Shaping Our Future.” The 2024 theme is an homage to the ancestors of AA and NHPI people and invites all Americans to delve into the legacies, triumphs, and challenges that have shaped these communities.
We encourage everyone to be a source for better health for our AAPI communities by understanding the social and health disparities that impact this population not only this month, but all year round.
DotHouse sends a huge THANK YOU to all of our incredible Corporate, Small Business, and Individual sponsors that helped support DotFest 2024! We appreciate all your contributions in honor of our health center's mission, vision, and values.
