The Longest Night Service, on the longest night of the year: Thursday Dec. 21st, 7pm, Mill Creek Community Church. ALL are welcome.

The season of advent is a season of longing, for the return of light to the world, for the celebration of the birth of Emmanuel, a God who came to be among us in humble form. It has been distorted and twisted over the years to be something else entirely. The holiday season is commercialized, sanitized and we miss can miss Emmanuel in the midst of all the noise. The Longest Night Service seeks to address the longing we have for a reconciled world, for a kingdom of Emmaneul: God WITH us. If this season brings with it grief, sorrow, pain or trials, come join a community of those longing for Jesus' hand; of comfort, compassion, healing. If this season brings loss of a loved one, loss of a job, loss of a relationship, join us as we call upon the light of the world to be WITH us in the darkness.

Hey, friends! We are really looking forward to finally meeting in person for worship THIS SUNDAY after three months of staying apart to stay safe. This is bound to feel awkward with these restrictions/guidelines set up and hopefully we can soon move to Phase 3 which allows for some more freedom. See below for safety restrictions and policies:
——————————————-

We will be following the County/State guidelines for churches opening in Phase 2. This is included in the following:
-limiting the gathering to 50 people. Church staff are not included in that number so we are setting out chairs for about 65 people, (Council members being included in that staffing number)
-please do not attend if you have a temperature of 100.4 or greater. In addition, anyone with a household member with symptoms of or a diagnosis of Covid 19 should not attend. We will have a ‘no touch’ thermometer to check people at the entrance.
-all attendees are to wear masks and keep a social distance of 6 ft. We will have extra masks available for those forgetting theirs.
-please refrain from physical contact with others, despite the joy of seeing each other again.
-we will have a limited amount of hand sanitizer available
-before the service the high contact surfaces will be wiped down with Clorox wipes
-we are expected to be wearing masks during the service including while singing
-chairs in the church auditorium will be 6 ft apart and rows of chairs have been taken out. Immediate household members can sit together.
-there will be no Nursery or Children’s Church for now.
-we will not have coffee or cookies served
-the office/kitchen wing of the building will be closed.
-the main entrance doors to the lobby and auditorium will be propped open
-there will be an offering box also in the lobby rather than ‘passing the plate’
-churches are required to have attenders ‘sign in’ for the purpose of possible contact tracing should anyone become ill with the coronavirus. Please bring your own pen for this as well as for signing up for Table Talks that were postponed in early March. We will have clipboards in the lobby for this. They will start next week for two consecutive Tuesday afternoons. We will have pens available for those forgetting to bring their own and we will be sanitizing them between uses.
-please do not linger in the building after the service
-for those unable to attend we will have the message recorded on our website
