Vera Milam shares her experiences from France!
“I have a million amazing memories I don’t know where to begin, but some of my absolute favorite, which I will cherish forever, is having the opportunity to go to a cafe, failing to order in French, enjoying an iced coffee, and watching people pass by.
Being abroad has taught me to be more present, more appreciative for the small things, and even more thankful for everything I am able to experience.
A memorable moment is when my friend and I got back to the hotel in Paris after a very late dinner and there was one staff member on duty and he made us feel at home with homemade croissants, fruit salad, yogurt, honey and bread!
With love, from Paris! 🥐 🇫🇷 🥖 🧀 👩🏽🎨”

Sister Spotlight Abroad✈️🌏🇮🇹
Gabriella Olson is currently studying in Florence, Italy!
“My favorite memory so far was going to dinner with all my roommates and making friends with the servers and chefs. We ended up staying and talking with the staff well after the restaurant had closed and got to learn about their experiences growing up in Florence, all while they treated us to a taste testing of their amazing dessert menu!
The most significant thing I have learned so far is that pursuing new opportunities can be scary, but it is completely worth it. Pushing yourself to explore and try new things allows you to grow, learn, and create so many amazing memories.
Since being abroad, my friends and I have been going on runs together to explore Florence. We’ve learned that this is a great way to see the city, and I love that I now have new running buddies!
A memorable moment from my first run was when my friend Ashley and I went out not knowing where we were going and ended up at the Piazzale Michelangelo, which was super cool. I think I will always remember these little runs and how much fun we have on them!”
Our girls are global!! Shoutout to our lovely sisters studying abroad, stay tuned for spotlights 👒⭐️☕️🛵

“When I joined Alpha Phi, I was asked on Bid Day “who do you know in our sorority?” With hesitation, I honestly remarked “only a few girls.” I came into Alpha Phi making it my goal to meet new people and get out of my comfort zone. Looking back, I can proudly say I have accomplished a sense of connection, but still have room to grow. I met Madison through mutual friends, both being from Seattle. I moved away from Seattle when I was 9, but Madison and I were able to establish an instant friendship. I am so lucky to have met her, and thankful for Aphi for bringing us together ☺️🤍” -Darien
“when i joined alpha phi i was overwhelmed by how many girls there were, it seemed like everyone already knew eachother. when darien and I kept running into eachother at events i knew i had a best friend and a sister in her. whether it’s talking until 2 am or doing homework together i know that i have someone who will always be there for me whenever i need her. i am so lucky to be in the same sisterhood as her and i know friendships like these are so special 💌”

“I went Alpha Phi because being a member of this chapter has motivated myself to become the best version of myself. I am pushed to become a leader, a better friend, and inclined to go outside my comfort zone, involving myself in the chapter in as many ways possible. I believe Alpha Phi encourages a strong sense of pride, and each member is inspired to better themselves in ample ways.“

Why Alpha Phi
With over 200,000 initiates, the sisterhood of Alpha Phi stretches coast to coast through 170 collegiate campuses- including our very own Beta Gamma chapter here at University of Colorado Boulder.
The Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi was founded in 1912. Since the beginning, our sisters have been dedicated to the common bond of scholarship, passion for service and philanthropy, pioneering leadership, bond of loyalty, high expectations for character, and a sisterhood that lasts a lifetime. We now have boasted our membership to include over 290 active members who exemplify these values daily.
As Boulder Alpha Phi, we are committed to our philanthropy, the Alpha Phi foundation, both locally and nationally. Our sisters are not only active throughout Alpha Phi, but around the community as well as many inhabit numerous leadership positions in diverse campus activities.
Alpha Phi is so much more than just a sorority. Alpha Phi is lifelong friendships, including the incredible gift of love and support from sisters who surround you. Alpha Phi is a support system, providing members with leadership and learning experiences well beyond your college years…for the rest of your lifetime! Alpha Phi is a home, filled with a supportive and empowering family of sisters who will always want the best for one another and expect the best of each other.
