Next up - another new 1L Lexis rep, Kristina Maude! Send her an email at [email protected] if you are interested in having a Lexis representatives stop by your class to explain the tools Lexis has to help you succeed in that course.
Hi all, I'm Kristina! I'm originally from Des Moines, IA but for the past five years I've been teaching middle school reading in Kansas City, MO. I'm currently undecided what I want to do after law school, but I'm interested in both litigation and family law. My favorite part of Lexis Nexis is the ravel tool. I love that you can visually see how a bunch of cases are related and it's really helped me when researching different topics.
Next up, another new 1L student representative - meet Brittney Beetcher! Contact her at [email protected] if you'd like to schedule a meeting to learn more about using Lexis for all your research needs!
Brittney is originally from Boulder, Colorado, and is interested in Environmental and Public Service law. She loves running while listening to podcasts (recommendations appreciated!), downhill skiing, hiking, and the Buffalo Bills.
One of Lexis's new student representative is 1L Marissa Joers! You can reach her at [email protected] for any questions you have about Lexis, or if your student group wants to set up a short "tip" session with her at your next meeting to learn something new about Lexis (and everyone earns some sweet, sweet Lexis points!).
Hey everyone, I'm Marissa! I'm originally from Racine, WI but lived the past 6 years in Iowa during and after college. I am SO happy to be living in Colorado now and finally attending law school. I am interested in environmental law, particularly in the renewable energy sector working on litigation, or maybe permitting. My favorite part of Lexis is the Legal News Hub where I go to learn about all the top legal stories around the world, and I can specifically choose the "Energy" or "Environmental" categories to see those news stories most interesting to me.
It's a brand-new semester, which means it's time for our Lexis student representatives to re-introduce themselves! Each day this week another student rep will introduce themselves and tell you what their favorite part of Lexis is. If you ever have any questions about Lexis, reach out to any of them and they'd be happy to help!
Hi everyone! My name is Essence Duncan, I am a 2L from Jacksonville, FL. I'm a K-JD so right before law school I graduated from Florida State University (Go ' Noles!!!). After law school I want to be a litigator preferably in civil rights or public defense work. My favorite feature of Lexis is being able to search for specific attorneys. When I had interviews, I was able to look up my interviewer in LexisNexis and ask them questions about past cases they litigated/worked on. It always impressed them, check it out!
CU LAW STUDENTS - Don't forget! Watch the January spotlight video on Lexis+ to learn how attorneys use Brief Analysis to draft stronger arguments and briefs. Sign on to Lexis+ and click the diamond icon at the top right to access the short video and earn 200 LexisNexis® Rewards points!
Drafting arguments supported by legal research is time-consuming. Editing and strengthening those arguments shouldn’t be. Lexis+® Brief Analysis helps save time by making recommendations to build better arguments, checking quotes, and ensuring you are citing good law.
