This morning, the bili blankets we donated and breast pumps kindly donated by were picked up by the director of ambulatory medicine in Dnipro, Ukraine. Their journey has been quite long and very arduous! They were hand delivered to Krakow by our team member, Alex, and then went by truck to Ukraine and finally by train to the interior of the country. We are presently working on sending many more bili blankets to Ukraine with the generous support of Jeff at Pitcock Biomedical who is recertifying and repairing many of our units.

We are donating medical equipment to Ukrainian babies and their moms in Krakow and Dnipro. We are extremely grateful to report that Motif Medical has also donated brand new equipment and supplies for Ukrainian moms that we can bring along.

Most recently we have partnered with the JCC Krakow and have learned they need some other items. Our focus is on babies, so I am putting out the call here for help securing a donation of formula for babies over one year old as well as pureed baby foods (jars/pouches). We must know someone with a connection in these industries who can secure a donation. Ideally, we'd like to bring this on a commercial flight leaving in less than two weeks, but we are happy to send it along later if necessary.

After continued days of sitting in the hospital for light therapy, with no family allowed because of Covid, it was so nice when we were finally able to go home and have family meet our sweet baby! Here is grandma getting to hold her for the first time! And big brother getting to meet his sweet sister. All impossible in the hospital with Covid restrictions!”

The challenges that can come with a newborn who needs treatment, with another kiddo at home, all while during a pandemic, can feel insurmontable, but we are so happy to have made one thing a little easier for this family!! ❤️❤️ And how cute is Grandma holding the baby!

We love seeing this! A sweet newborn receiving jaundice treatment at home through rather than in the hospital. ❤️

There are so many advantages to treating your baby’s jaundice at home with a Bili Blanket instead of in the NICU! First, treating at home means potentially avoiding prolonged hospital stays, with less exposure to other illnesses. This is a huge benefit.

Home treatment also encourages parent‐infant bonding as soon as possible which leads to reduced parental stress, and way less stress for the baby. You can snuggle and feed on demand, and parents can also be home to take care of any other kiddos.

Treating at home means fewer heel pricks, less noise, no overhead lights, all leading to less disruption and therefore less stress on the whole family.
