I met Roscoe at the Kankakee Farmer's Market today and he is amazing! He is a 3 year old Terrier mix and he was the gentlest pup I think I've ever met. If you are looking to adopt a dog, he is available! He is at the Kankakee County Humane Society.
If you go get him let me know and I will walk him or dog-sit for free! 💗

Hey ladies! 🌺

Not sure if you know this or not but I am a published author of 7 books. SEVEN! (Though I have written two more under a pen name that can be found online as well…)
I love writing, designing, editing (yes, I love editing!), and publishing. ✍🏼

I’m also an extrovert and love being with people more often than not. 👯
And since writing is such a solitary art it got me thinking…

Annnnnd…I have the idea of a writing retreat. Maybe more than one retreat. Each retreat could be centered around each stage of the writing/editing/publishing process. I’ll share what I’ve learned and help you move forward with your project. Also, I’m really good at encouraging people!

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY.

Your mental health is EVERYTHING and it's not just today or this week or this month that you’re allowed to talk about it.

From somebody who suffered in silence for the longest time because I was scared to admit I wasn't doing good, please believe me when I say, talking helps and you’ll be overwhelmed by how many people are there for you when you do open up.

It gets better and it won't always feel this heavy. 🧡🌈

Succulents speak to me.
They survive on very little water, and thrive with minimal care.
I’d like to think I am that way.
Or at least I try to be:

🌵
✔️low maintenance
✔️not fussy
✔️not needy
🌵

But I’ve come to realize that there is a difference between:

➡️ having/voicing a need (valid)
and
➡️ being “needy” (problematic)

We all have needs apart from the basic needs of food, water, and shelter. We also have need for friendship, companionship, connection.

We have specific needs within specific relationships: to be heard, validated, known, and loved.

These needs do not make you or I “needy”.

We can become needy if we only focus on our own problems, never allowing ourselves to feel better, using a shoulder to cry on but never offering one, etc.

If you recognize yourself there, that’s okay! Just take time to think about what makes you so clingy then focus on healing that deep need.

If you need someone to talk to about your unmet needs, or the ways your needs have been de-valued over time, please find a counselor/therapist to talk to, someone who will validate your needs and help you heal.

Your needs are important and so are you!

I had a hard time getting an unobstructed view of the glorious sky this morning. The poles and the wires kept getting in the way. 

That’s how it is sometimes though, isn’t it? We have a hard time seeing the blessings, the joys, the good in our lives because that view may be blocked by challenges, difficulties, problems of any kind.

Choosing to see beyond our problems doesn’t mean we’re avoiding them, it simply means were choosing a DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE. We simply have to make that choice.

I hope you find your way to a great day today, and that you choose a different perspective despite the challenge, to see the miracles in the midst of it all!
