Hey guys, Happy New Year. We made it over into 2023!!! What a blessing.

OAN, for a while now, I have been toiling with the decision of whether I will be returning or not. After much thought, prayer, and consideration, I have decided NOT to return to braiding hair at this time. I know this might come as a surprise to many. However, I NEED to do this for my mental, physical, and family well-being. It is not ideal for me to continue in the capacity I once did since having our new addition. As I stated in my last post, the way our life is set up now, coming back to braiding, would make things very challenging.

This was not an easy decision, but it's the best one. I thank you all for your continued support of me over these last 2 years. I feel like it is now time for me to move in a different direction. I don't know what the future holds. Nevertheless, this is what's needed. I appreciate your understanding of this. 😌

Today, I did my last set of knotless. I am OFFICIALLY on maternity leave.

Thank you, ladies, for always being a support and being a good sport during this pregnancy process. I have 4 weeks (starting tomorrow)left before Olivia makes her debut. It's now time to rest, relax, and prepare for the big day.

I will keep everyone updated on her arrival, and when I plan to return to work. In the meantime, keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers as we embark on parenthood, AGAIN. 😅🥰 Pray my skrenff.

Now, I must go take a nap. My back is achy.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give a lil update. Sooo, right now, I am not in a mental or physical space/place where I can add on more appointments or do any squeeze in appointments. My books are full for the month of June, and nearly full for July and August. Whatever you see open, that's all I have.

I am quickly approaching 7 months in another week which also means I'll be entering the 3rd trimester. Those of you who are mom's know what that feels like. I am doing my best to keep up, but Physically, my body is feeling the effects of doing this job, on top of other obligations I have in between time that requires a lot of energy. I will still honor those who have already made their appointments, however, I can't accept anymore at this time. Carrying a child is hard. It's even harder having to stand on your feet 6-12 hrs a day. Braiding hair takes a lot of physical movement, and doing this as a full time job is a lot, too. It creates burnout. This Mama right here is tired.

In the meantime, if you still need your hair braided over the summer, I have my 2 backup braiders who I can refer you to. Please send me a text if you need their info.

I appreciate y'all for understanding and sticking with me. I'm trying to take care of myself so that I can finish out a good, healthy pregnancy.

Those who have already booked, I will see you soon. And those who have not, I will hopefully see you after my maternity leave.

It's been a medium knotless kind of week.

Hey guys,

As many of you know, preparing for a baby/birth is a lot of work, and rest is fully required before the big day. I will need this time to shift focus and spend more time with my family before baby girl arrives.

With that being said, this is an advance notice to all of you so that you can schedule your appointments accordingly. It's a possibility that I may start leave earlier than expected, depending on how I am feeling within my last month.

August dates are only a few, so don't wait until the last minute to get in. I will NOT be accepting any appointments after I'm closed. I do, however, have 2 back up braiders who I can refer you to during my absence.

Nevertheless, I appreciate y'all for sticking with me through this blessed transition, and hope that you will come back once I am up and running again.

For now, I will see you in April, May, June, July and partially August. 😁 Get them appointments in, y'all.

Small butt length knotless braids 😊

This was my first time EVER, trying the sleek ponytail, but I was up for the challenge. She has very thick, 4C hair. I was very nervous but i needed to trust myself in the process. Not too bad for my 1st time.

In 2022, Gibson Girl Braiding Lounge will be implementing some changes for the new year. Currently, the calendar is closed for January as I make adjustments to the booking process. However, I will reopen the link on December 23rd.
