We had the honor of partnering with Western Kentucky University for the WKU Big Red Camp Care!
Our Med Center Health Professionals provided the campers interactive presentations hoping to spark a passion for healthcare.
Campers also enjoyed a guided tour through The Medical Center at Bowling Green visiting departments such as radiology ,lab, endoscopy, ambulatory surgery , and the emergency department.

We enjoyed spending time with these campers and hope to work side by side with them caring for patients in the future!

"Samantha Traughber is being nominated for Employee of the Month due to her persistence, positivity, and dedication. Samantha has worked for The Medical Center at Scottsville for over 12 years. In her time with us, she has been a CNA, CMT, Program Assistant, Financial Counselor, and currently our Insurance Specialist. She can carry a wealth of knowledge because of the many hats she has worn here. Time and time again, I witness her speak with families, patients, and residents with kindness, but she also shares information and educates them about their options and rights. Patients and families love her. This is shown by the constant calls and visits to our office, thanking her for the information she provides. Samantha handles Swing Bed and Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care referrals. This is in addition to handling insurance for Swing Bed and Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. Samantha has also worked so diligently that there are zero accounts with denial due to no authorization for our Swing Bed. Samantha clearly deserves to be recognized for her hard work."

Congratulations to Shelby Scott and Candice Bessinger, CNAs at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care, for receiving the Good Samaritan Award at Med Center Health!

"Candice and Shelby are CNAs at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. Both work with residents to promote mobility and independence and provide the best possible care to our residents. Recently, Candice and Shelby assisted in caring for a resident whose wife passed away. This resident had difficulties with their mobility. Candice and Shelby accompanied this resident to the funeral home to attend his wife's visitation. After ensuring the resident's safe arrival at the funeral home, Shelby and Candice returned to the facility to finish their shift. When their shift was finished, they returned to the funeral home to help the resident get to the bathroom and with any needs he had so that he would be able to stay with his family throughout the visitation. During their shift the next day, Shelby and Candice assisted the resident in dressing and loading into the van to attend his wife's funeral. Candice accompanied him to the funeral and the graveside service. This act of kindness was not required but truly showed her passion for the people in her care and provided immeasurable comfort to this resident and his family. This is only a small example of the multiple ways Candice and Shelby dedicate themselves to caring for our patients."
