Last night, the Roscher crew embarked on a deliciously educational adventure inspired by the movie "Unfrosted"! 🎬 We dove into the colorful history of cereal and pop-tart brands with our very own "Roscher Family Taste Test."

We put our taste buds to the test, rating various name brand and generic cereals based on taste, color, smell, and texture. 🍓🌽🥛 But that’s not all—our pop-tart challenge had everyone guessing which was the "imposter" among the flavors. As a small business owner and mother, the lines between professional life and parenthood are beautifully blurred. Being "in the trenches" with my own family teaches me more than any textbook ever could. It's a constant cycle of trial-and-error, of learning and evolving not just as a professional, but as a mother making school decisions, navigating parenting discussions, and exploring disciplines.

Returning mid-"testing season," I'm refreshed and even more dedicated to offering services that blend professional expertise with personal understanding and empathy. Fine motor skills are the cornerstone of a child's ability to explore, learn, and interact with the world around them. From the grasp of a crayon to the delicate art of stringing beads, these skills are crucial in a child's early development. Accompanying this post is an image that captures the essence of fine motor development—activities that are not only fun but are foundational in building the dexterity, strength, and coordination young children need.

Besides what you see in the picture, there are countless ways to support fine motor development in children ages 0-5. Activities like playing with playdough, scooping and pouring during sand play, and even simple tasks like using a spoon or picking up small food items, offer daily opportunities for growth.

Fine motor skills are the building blocks for independence, allowing children to feed themselves, dress, write, and engage in play. Encouraging these skills through a variety of activities not only prepares children for academic success but also for the daily tasks of life.

By integrating these activities into their routine, we give our children the tools they need to unlock the world around them, one tiny finger at a time.

Just two days after Valentine's Day, I'm reflecting on a simple yet impactful tradition we've built in our home to foster connection and self-esteem within our family. Every year, we take to writing 'love notes' to each other, sticking them on our doors with those easily found (and cheap!!) paper hearts from the Dollar Store.

This isn't just about celebrating a day of love; it's about reinforcing the bonds that hold us together every day. Each note is a personalized shout-out, highlighting something genuinely appreciated about each other. From the unique traits that make each of our kids special to the quirky habits of our pets, no one is left out.

What started as a fun family activity has turned into a powerful tool for building esteem and connection. It's also a practice that I hope my kids will take beyond our walls, sharing positive notes with friends, spreading kindness and appreciation in their own circles.

This glimpse inside our tradition is a nudge for others to find simple ways to express love and admiration. Whether it's a note on a door or a kind word shared in passing, it's these small gestures that can make a big difference in someone's day, and even in their sense of self-worth.
