From the cover of the book:
"In Decolonizing Wellness: A QTBIPOC-Centered Guide to Escape the Diet Trap, Heal Your Self-Image, and Achieve Body Liberation, registered dietitian and nutritionist Dalia Kinsey will help readers to improve their health without restriction, eliminate stress around food and eating, and turn food into a source of pleasure instead of shame. A road map to body acceptance and self-care for q***r people of color, Decolonizing Wellness is filled with practical eating practices, journal prompts, affirmations, and mindfulness tools. Ultimately, decolonizing nutrition is essential not only to our personal well-being but to our community’s well-being and to the possibility of greater social transformation.
This is a body positivity and food freedom book for marginalized folks. It’s a guide to throwing out food rules in exchange for internal cues and adopting a self-love-based approach to eating. It’s about learning to trust our bodies and turning mealtime into a time for celebration and healing.
It’s also a love letter to those of us who struggle with our bodies and a gentle plea for us to do the work it takes to accept, trust, and love ourselves." - Dalia Kinsey, RD, LD

Celebrate LGBT+ History Month with diving into The Book of Pride. 🌈
Meet the leaders and activists on the front lines of the LGBTQ movement, from the 1960’s to the present, through stunning interviews and compelling black and white photographs. The 75 individuals featured in THE BOOK OF PRIDE – including marriage pioneer Evan Wolfson, trans icon Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, Stonewall-era rabblerouser Mark Segal and legendary Anti-DADT activist Grethe Cammermeyer – fought battles frequently under the threat of violence and persecution. By capturing these accounts, we honor an important chapter in American history and ensure that the story of the LGBTQ community is safeguarded for generations to come. The brave and determined activists celebrated in THE BOOK OF PRIDE inspire each of us to resist all forms of oppression with ferocity, and to do so with great pride.

There are many important things to know about LGBT+ History Month, but one of the most important is that it is a time to celebrate and recognize the achievements and contributions of the le***an, gay, bis*xual, and transgender (LGBT+) community.
This month-long observance provides an opportunity to learn about the history and diversity of the LGBT+ community, and to gain a better understanding of the challenges and struggles that LGBT+ people have faced.
It is also a time to promote acceptance and equality for LGBT+ people and to challenge discrimination and persecution wherever it occurs.
By participating in and supporting LGBT+ History Month, individuals and communities can take a stand against discrimination and prejudice and can work towards creating a more inclusive and accepting society for all.

Need more books for your autumn TBR? Join us for Menopause Manifesto Book Club - a unique collab between and Erotique that tackles topics on s*xual health and culture every month for free! For October we are focusing on later in life s*xuality and hormonal changes that come with aging.
From the cover of Menopause Manifesto:
"The only thing predictable about menopause is its unpredictability. Factor in widespread misinformation, a lack of research, and the culture of shame around women's bodies, and it's no wonder women are unsure what to expect during the menopause transition and beyond.
Menopause is not a disease--it's a planned change, like puberty. And just like puberty, we should be educated on what's to come years in advance, rather than the current practice of leaving people on their own with bothersome symptoms and too much conflicting information. Knowing what is happening, why, and what to do about it is both empowering and reassuring."
Grab your copy of Menopause Manifesto at Erotique and we will see you Wednesday October 30th from 5pm to 7pm at the OH Hi Event Space. FREE raffle and food included!
