LETTER TO OUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS

We are making steady progress with our rebuild/renovation of The Drift due to the hurricanes. Right now we are on track for a late December reopening.
I want to take a moment to thank officials from the City of Bradenton Beach including Chief Cosby, Mayor Chappie, Building Official Darin Cushing, Code Enforcement Evan Harbus, and City Attorney Ricinda Perry. These folks are taking a lot of heat for various decisions. I want to remind everyone that there is no perfect answer and that from our view they are working tirelessly for us. They have been boots on the ground answering questions and giving guidance where they can.

The Drift In Crew got together last night for a much needed break and reunion.
Water and Wind got in, but it didn’t sink our ship. We are restoring her to Okd Glory and adding a few new fun features along the way.
Can you taste a Cold One and feel Cold AC inside? How about a new take on the World Famous Tiki Bar. Quite the opportunity to celebrate 100 years of Getting Drifty in 2025.

Bradenton Beach Building Official Darrin Cushing urges residents to contact his office prior to starting work on any building/restoration project that may require a permit. The department's temporary number is 813-892-8418.

Over half of Manatee County’s traffic lights are not operating. We encourage you to stay at home while our repair teams continue to work their way around the county. If you need to venture out on the roads and approach a malfunctioning traffic light, please treat these intersections as four-way stops by coming to a complete stop and yielding right of way. For an updated list of road closures, please go to mymanatee.org/storm.

IMPORTANT - the State of Florida is checking holding tanks at gas stations to assure we get “good” gas. There is no shortage. There are hundreds of tanker trucks ready to deliver to us.

We are out here on the island. There are many downed trees, power lines and debris to clear out of the roadways. We are working hard to get things cleared up. There is no timeline yet for allowing residents back on the island, we will keep you updated. Cell service is very spotty on the island so if you are trying to reach someone they will probably not be able to answer.
