What a great night of volleyball last night in a jam-packed Hoagland Arena AND a three-set win by the Falcons over St. Pete Catholic! Here we go!

Congrats to Falcons sophomore Eddie Gu! He tied for fourth place last week at the Canadian Junior Golf Championship with a four-round score of 7-under par. Gu will look to lead the Falcons to their fifth consecutive state tournament this fall.

Saint Stephen's Athletics Sports have been an integral part of Saint Stephen’s since the school’s opening in 1970. SSES began as a K-8 school, adding one grade level each year and various sports programs in conjunction with enrollment growth.

Tuesday will mark the first day of classes and also the first athletic event of the 2024-25 season! Volleyball tangles with Bradenton Christian (5 p.m.) and Sarasota High (6 p.m.) in a pair of preseason matches at BCS.

Saint Stephen’s has named Alexis Whitmore the head coach of its girls’ lacrosse program. Whitmore comes to SSES from Bradenton Christian, where she served as an assistant coach from 2023-24. Prior to that, she was the JV coach at Out-of-Door Academy in 2022. Whitmore was part of the launch of the programs at both schools. A graduate of Riverview High in Sarasota, where she was a four-year starter on the lacrosse team, Whitmore has a bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University. She inherits a highly successful program at SSES. The Falcons have posted a combined record of 35-3 the past two seasons with back-to-back state Final Four appearances.

Two Falcons will be staying in the Sunshine State to play their college lacrosse! Congrats to rising seniors Haley Rosa and Annesley Flint on their commitments!

Congratulations to rising senior Tiffanie Tran, who has committed to play collegiate golf at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky! The Bears compete at the NAIA level.

Gotta admit, that brand new Falcons logo sure is gonna look great this fall on those football helmets!
