Riverstone Classical Academy
A classical Christian homeschool hybrid school located in West Bradenton, Florida.
We’re having a fantastic time in ART this year! We kicked things off with the "5 Basic Elements of Shape," where students learned all about dots, circles, and different types of lines.
Then we jumped into MAPS! After checking out both a modern map and one from the 1300s, students took a closer look at their own neighborhoods and sketched ideas in their take-home sketchbooks. Our younger artists started by drawing their neighborhoods in sand, and they absolutely loved it!
Now, students are busy creating their own mosaics, and they’re turning out beautifully!
In the logic stage (grades 6–8), kids start questioning EVERYTHING—and that’s a good thing!
🕊
This is when they move beyond memorizing facts and start learning WHY things happen. The logic stage is all about taking the knowledge they've built in the grammar stage and diving deeper, connecting the dots, and learning how to make sense of it all.
🕊
Here, students develop critical thinking skills by learning to argue effectively, question ideas, and see the relationships between subjects.
Happy Monday, friends!
This week in Civics 4 Kids, our students explored the Electoral College and the importance of swing states in our upcoming election.
🕊
They learned how just one vote can shift an outcome and why every vote counts!
🕊
To bring the lesson to life, the kids ran their own election in class and cast their ballots. It was so fun to see them so engaged in the process.
🕊
Happy voting everyone! You still have Friday and Saturday to vote early!
Parent-teacher conferences are in full swing at RCA!
🕊
These quarterly check-ins are a chance for teachers to give parents an inside look at their child’s progress—celebrating achievements and identifying areas where extra support might help.
🕊
It’s also an opportunity for parents to share what they’re seeing at home, whether it’s a new interest, a challenge, or something unique about their child.
🕊
We believe that working together—parents and teachers—creates the best environment for students to grow, both academically and personally.
Yesterday, was another wonderful day for our RCA family. Students and their parents volunteered at the Compassion Center in Palmetto to help sort supplies for care packages for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Students also received a special behind-the-scenes tour of the facility.
These days are such a great opportunity to show the next generation how to give back to their community and extend the love of Jesus to those around them.
Happy Sunday everyone! Praying you have a wonderful day in fellowship with family and friends.
We were FINALLY able to have our first field trip of the year!
Today some of our students and their families went to the Manatee Village Historical Park for a self-guided tour of the park that included historical replicas, and buildings from Manatee County’s founding period, including a farmhouse, church, school, and more.
There was also a scavenger hunt kids could do while exploring. Looking forward to more adventures next month!
The most popular question at our info meetings? It's about our teachers!
🕊
Many of our educators come from traditional 5-day settings, and their experience says more than any certificate ever could. For those who are newer, we provide real-time mentoring and support to ensure they're ready to thrive.
🕊
We’re currently hiring as we grow! If you're looking for a community for you and your kids, reach out!
At Riverstone Classical Academy, we focus on the trivium. The first stage of the trivium is the grammar stage and is considered the early years of learning (K-6).
🕊
This stage is all about soaking up knowledge like little sponges because kids have an amazing ability to memorize, explore, and discover during these years.
🕊
Through songs, chants, rhymes, and repetition, students learn foundational facts in language, math, history, and more.
🕊
This approach helps them build the tools they’ll use in the logic and rhetoric stages to think critically and express themselves clearly.
Out of an abundance of caution, Riverstone Classical Academy has decided to close Tuesday, October 8th through Thursday, October 10th.
🕊
Please be safe everyone.
🕊
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
We love hearing from parents and students on how RCA has helped them in their homeschooling journey!
🕊

Happy Sunday RCA Fam! We're grateful to be able to welcome back students and teachers this Tuesday as we dive back into learning together!
🕊
Let’s make this week a great one!
Our hearts are with everyone affected by the recent events of Hurricane Helene in Florida and surrounding areas.
🕊
In these devastating times, it's the strength of community and the spirit of compassion that truly stand out. Let’s rally together to offer help where it's needed most—whether through donations, volunteer efforts, or just being there for one another.
🕊
Every gesture, big or small, plays a vital role in rebuilding and recovering. Stay strong, stay hopeful, and know that we're in this together.
RCA Closure Announcement
🕊
In line with the School District of Manatee County, Riverstone Classical Academy will be closed on Wednesday, September 25th, and Thursday, September 26th.
🕊
The field trip scheduled for this Friday will also be rescheduled for a later date. Thursday's hot lunch will be postponed to next Thursday, October 3rd.
🕊
We will keep you updated with any additional information throughout the week. Stay safe everyone and see you next week!
Wondering about how we do lunch? Since we don’t have access to the on-site kitchen on campus, students bring their lunches each day.
🕊
But, we like to keep things fun! So once a month, we host a Hot Lunch Day where students can enjoy a special meal delivered right to school for just $5.
🕊
It’s a great way to mix things up and let our students share a special meal together.
