SCF Bradenton, Lot G has been designated a Disaster Recovery Point of Distribution (POD) site for the community. From Noon to 5:00 p.m. today (9/29), members of the community may stop by the campus for essentials including, but not limited to water, Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MREs), diapers, wipes, and the like. Professionals will also be available to discuss recovery steps such as applying for FEMA.

All SCF campuses will close effective Wednesday, September 25 through Sunday, September 29, 2024, and all activities including classes, any appointments, advising, sports, music and theatre productions are cancelled due to Tropical Storm Helene. Regular hours of operations will resume Monday, September 30, 2024.

The Bradenton and Venice State College of Florida Collegiate School campuses will also close effective Wednesday, September 25 through Sunday, September 29, 2024. Regular hours of operations will resume Monday, September 30, 2024.

Please note only essential facilities, public safety and those designated essential personnel by their supervisor should report for work or to the College as directed. No other faculty, staff or students are expected to report for work or class and will not be allowed on campus as a safety precaution.

Audition Opportunity!

American Stage Theatre Company is now casting for our school tour called Familia de Flamingos! Please see the details below:)

Audition Details:
Sunday, August 18th - 6pm - 8:30pm - American Stage 10 minute increments starting at 6:15, Info session about tour from 6-6:15

Please respond with confirmation of your attendance and we will reserve a 10 minute slot for you. We may ask for people to stay and do some group work.

Material:
Please prepare 16 bars of a pop song, and a 1-2 minute comedic monologue (preferably from a TYA show).

Contract Details
-Educational School Tour (Non-Union)
-$550 per week.
-Must be available during the School Day. (With option to stay on for our performing Arts Center Tour after January on a show by show bases)
Rehearsal Begin - September 16-October 5
Fall Tour Begins - October 7-Nov 22, possible ext Dec 2-13

Mami: (Latin 25-35 Actor who can sing) Runs a tight ship, organized and always in control to a fault. Loves her children.

Papi: (Latin 25-35 Actor who can sing) A little bit of a mess, tries really hard and means well. Loves his children.

Leo: (Latin 9yrs old played by 18-25 year old, Actor who can sing & plays bongos) Artistic, talented percussionist, Grey. Not yet pink, feeling like an outsider, who is looking to belong and find his community

Anita: (younger sister also played by 18-25 year old/Actor who can sing) Ambitious, smart, a go getter, Leo’s manager. Also Grey not yet pink, sides with Leo. Feeling like an outsider and looking for community.

Jaws/Brady: (25-35 Singer/ Actor, Any Ethnicity) Jaws is and older Gator Militant/disciplinarian Father type deep R&B roots, Brady is a dolphin, a know it all, high pitched, pompous, quick witted

Snappy/Brody: (18-25 Actor who can sing, Any Ethnicity) Snappy is young, timid, and sweet. Needing more love than discipline. Brody is obnoxiously smart, high pitched, quick witted

Where: Auditions will be held at Urbanite Theatre. Urbanite is located at 1487 2nd Street, Sarasota, FL 34236. There is parking across the street on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Whole Foods garage.
