Highlight of my day… meeting an adorable 1st grader who says “I’m a hugger and getting multiple hugs!” Man these kids are the best!

Ok Fellow Book Lovers! I am back to work with a 45 minute drive each way 4 days a week… Audio books make the ride divine! I am in need of suggestions of good listens. I run through 2-3 per week, so I have listened to a lot… so give me ones I may not have heard of. Help a girl out.

Morning check in… up and at it… gym time… back to school training… principal meeting and open house. Super excited for year 3 with Catapult.

Morning check in… ankle is feeling better, some swelling but no more limping. Gym time. Tomorrow is my first in person day at work! And open house for school #1.

Morning check in… my day started with a beautiful email from a former coworker… these emails warm my heart every year… today while my heart. Was warmed it also broke a little, thinking about my retirement. It is the right and best decision, but reminders of the glory days make me a little sad. To all the teachers and kids going back today… make it great. In the words of a wise man… “Get them in, get them fed, get them home.”

This week, twenty-two years ago, I walked into Palmetto Elementary to begin my first year as a Manatee County teacher. Today, I am walking out a Daughtrey for the last time as a Manatee County teacher. It’s a bittersweet day, and I will cherish the people, the families and the students who I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years. To my fellow educators stay strong… and remember to always ask yourself… is this what is best for kids?

Morning Update… today will be a bittersweet day, as I close the book on chapter on a major part of my adult life. Up early, hitting the gym. My thoughts and good vibes are with my community today as so many experienced huge amounts of water and have lost so much. Hurricane season is no joke the last few years. Be kind today…well everyday.

Morning check in… Debby made herself known all night and is still hanging around. No reporting to school today… Rough band whipping through right now. Have some zoom calls and remote tasks for today… and some meal prep to do, but otherwise… stay inside and staying dry. Stay safe all my local peeps.

Morning check in… gym time… then cheat day… which is a requirement of the diet… (see my latest blog post for more info… on PowellFul You) tickets with the whole Fam for Deadpool, then Scuderia for all the foods! Hopefully we stay dry… last day of summer vacation… going to be an emotional few days as I close out a long chapter of my life… happy Sunday friends! Make it great.

The rain has begun… Debby is moving in… but hopefully staying out in the Gulf for her journey! Stay away Jim Cantore!

Morning check in! Happy Saturday… hitting the gym before the rain starts… then house cleaning and chili cooking day. Hoping this storm stays west and doesn’t follow its predecessors with a turn east! Be safe all my West Coast Floridians!

Morning check in… saw 5 dolphins on our walk this am… makes the heat worthwhile. Heading to the gym to try a new workout I read about in a new book I am reading. Later today a massage/facial my favorite self care treat… and dinner at home with Brandon Powell! Happy Friday and last day of Summer Vacay to all my teachers going back next week!

Morning check in… back from an amazing vacation… hitting the gym… working with some awesome Powellful Tutoring kids this afternoon and getting started on my back to school to do list for Catapult. The summer went fast, but it was fantastic.

Morning check in… lots of Powellful Tutoring today! Last minute workouts and packing for our trip! Can’t wait to see my family and my home town!

Morning check in… feeling a little better today… junk seems to be clearing out of my head… lots of rest and fluids this weekend… so we will be ready to FLY home! Happy Friday everyone! About to do my somatic movements then hit the gym. Two new Powellful Tutoring kiddos to meet today!!!

Morning up date… not feeling 💯 today. Sore throat and some sinus congestion. Swabbed with zicam, going to load up on all the things and hopefully knock the funk out before we go to Buffalo! One week countdown!

Morning check in… gym time… full day of helping kids feel success with Powellful Tutoring! Hoping to end the night with my favorite pasttime… walking the riverwalk with Brandon Powell!

Morning check in… had an awesome weekend. Didn’t sleep well Sunday, so took it easy yesterday to recharge. Gym time then some Powellful Tutoring sessions this afternoon.
