What an amazing gift! A huge THANK YOU to the Walleye Alliance for supporting the youth at Camp Vanasek! To some this might look lIke just a bunch of amazing fishing equipment, but it means so much more than that to the kids in our program!

One of the most heart felt stories I have ever been told was because of this amazing groups donation.

In 2020 a parent approached me and said, "My 1st grader had never fished before camp. Now it is his favorite activity. But the most amazing thing is he has bonded with our 70yr old neighbor over fishing, and now they have fishing plans together every Saturday morning!"

The gear is the donation, but the REAL EFFECT is in the lives that these donations change for the better!

Marc Bacigalupi will be our featured speaker this year. Marc was the Minnesota DNR Brainerd Area Fisheries Supervisor for 13 years has just taken the Northwest Region Fisheries Manager position. The NW Region includes some of the state’s premier walleye fisheries, including Lake of the Woods, Upper Red, Cass and Leech Lakes. Join us as Marc covers the status of our fisheries, how DNR is attempting to tackle fishing pressure, technology and invasive species issues and how DNR works with associations and non-profits like the Walleye Alliance to keep great fishing in Minnesota.
