April's Autism Acceptance/Awareness month.
We are a family with an autistic adult son, and my passion at first was to be self employed and provide a life for him with the least amount of challenges and difficulties.
Instead, my son grew old enough to say he didn't want to work in the restaurant. Popped the bubble I was creating for him. He didn't want to be in such a busy environment, with people and noises, and he made it clear to me that I was building a life for him that he didn't want.
Bittersweet.
He grew up to have his own thoughts, goals, desires, and he's in a safe space to express that.
So, this is our story.💙
