Alright folks, here goes nothing. I have a barn to feed and a farm job to get to so I will check in as I can! There are 4 spots for each class. If additional folks sign up and use the extra spaces (apparently my 0030 test did not go as planned!) I’ll take the top 4 time stamped and then post the Wait list this afternoon/evening from that! 0800 for returning families, 0900 for new families.

Cool thing about Sign-up genius…It time stamps everything! Registration opens at 8 AM for returning families!!! It opens at 9 AM for new families!!! Already considering a different option for next year 😬🙄

A few things for tomorrow:
1) I will not be available for immediate reply!
2) Sign up genius is a platform and I will post the link to it on this page! It also timestamps everything for me, which is how I ensure returning families only utilize it from 8-9!
3) Make sure you have a first and second choice plan
4) if you think you are going to want more than one session, sign up for both! I can’t guarantee adding more lessons this year like I did last year!
5) There will be a separate link for the wait list! Didn’t get into your first choice… get yourself on the waitlist! Spots get filled based on timestamps!

I am not the instructor that is going to coddle you or your child at every turn, because frankly, I’m willing to push them out of their comfort zone to ensure their long term safety & survival skills! If I’m being honest, I probably end up frustrated more with the parents than I do with the kids… the kids know who will cave! 😁

Tip Tuesday: You Don’t Have to Like It.

This is something as a parent I say all the time. “You don’t have to like it, you just have to do it.”

It is part of maturing, being responsible, making good decisions.

Sometimes kids don’t do things because they don’t like it, or it is uncomfortable, or something new…the reality is, we need to teach kids how to be more “comfortable in the uncomfortable”.

Yep, that vegetable might not be your favorite, gonna eat it anyway.

Yep, you might not feel like going to practice, gonna go anyway.

Yep, you might not feel like putting your face in the water, gonna do it anyway.

Yep, you might not want to wear a lifejacket, gonna do it anyway.

You don’t have to like it!

We do things all the time we don’t like or love in the name of health, safety, being a good human…

Where would be if we only did things we liked or felt like?!?!

So, a great message to reinforce to kids as they are learning to swim or participating in water smart safety measures….you don’t have to like it.

I can’t believe it’s almost Noon on January 1 and no one has asked about swim lessons for the summer yet!!!!

If you were looking for a preschool 1 spot in la plata(weeks of 7/10) or Leonardtown(week of 7/17), please let me know so I can get you set up with registration! I’ve had several people not complete registrations and so now I have multiple spots open!

I went to a party this weekend where there were 4 adults accompanying 3 kids, they put the 5 and 3 year old in puddle jumpers and left them in the pool area alone (there was a lifeguard on duty!) I ended up pulling them both out as the 3 year old was standing on the 5 year old holding her under! IT IS YOUR JOB TO WATCH YOUR KIDS 👏👏👏!!!!

I’ve kind of been bombarded with “what’s available?!” And all I have left open are a few preschool spots in Leonardtown 7/17 and Frederick has some spots available and that’s it for this summer 🥰

The sun is shining and it’s a balmy 78° …. We are having lessons in Frederick tonight, we will dodge lightning if needed!! Please be patient tonight as we will run classes a little longer to make up some time, especially for the ones I know will miss makeups! I may have some overlapping in classes!

I know parents hate that I hate these things… but there are multiple reasons why!!! Please just don’t… and if you do, don’t be mad because I’m spending your kid’s lesson time un-doing the muscle memory these things create!!!

I’ve now had 2 parents say they didn’t receive them(I did send a week and a half ago!) but I know some of them got through because I’ve received replies! Session 1 in Charles and Frederick are full, with the exception of youth 4!!! 😳

I have 2 spots open for St. Mary’s next week in preschool 2/3(3-5 age & comfortable being in water and will put face mostly in!) This is NOT an intro class! Spots are for a small group class in Leonardtown! Someone dropped both spots
