"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION OF $7,650,000 FOR THE WALSH INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL (WIS} FIELD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND THE FINANCING OF SAID APPROPRIATION BY THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE TOWN AND NOTES IN ANTICIPATION OF SUCH BONDS IN AN AMOUNT NOTTO EXCEED $7,650,000 THEREFOR”

We have been notified that Walsh project will have 2 meetings next week Tuesday the 27th for subcommittees and Thursday the 29th for a full vote of the RTM!

Fields Update, there will be no meetings dealing with the Walsh field improvements will not happen until the beginning of March, RTM Moderator will not send them to committees until February 14th. This pushes off the meetings and we will update you all on dates when they are scheduled.

Now on to the RTM , mark your calendars Wednesday February 7th 7 Pm at Community House for Ways and Means subcommittee then on to Wednesday February 14th 8pm Branford Fire Hq , set your schedules , plan to take your significant others out on Tuesday the 13th!!

Dear Athletes of all ages and their supporters,

Last year, the Town of Branford initiated a movement to enhance sports fields and courts across town. This effort led to the development of a comprehensive plan by a professional firm, outlining potential projects for every park in town.

The first phase commenced with site improvements at Walsh Intermediate School. The process kicks off on Monday, January 29th, 2024, at 7:30 PM at Branford Fire HQ with the Board of Finance (BoF) meeting. This dedicated team, free from political affiliations, will determine if the requested funding aligns with Branford's means. Public input is welcome at the beginning of the meeting, and your presence in the room makes a significant impact.

Upon BoF approval, the project proceeds to the Representative Town Meeting (RTM). The RTM schedules the item to committees, with the Ways and Means committee meeting on the first Wednesday of the month, tentatively starting on February 7th at 7 PM at Community House. The full RTM meeting on February 14th at 8 PM at Fire HQ is when the final decision is made, subject to BoF and RTM moderator decisions.

It’s important to note that your presence at these meetings will be of the utmost importance to garner support from the RTM on this project.

During RTM discussions, speaking time may be limited due to the number of participants. Prepare concise statements, even if it's a brief expression of support or opposition. Your presence and opinions truly matter.
