THIS! This is the beauty of Barker Creek: students from different programs having the opportunity to work together and connecting with their fellow Owls. A group of our Classroom-based high schoolers teamed up with our K-8 Virtual Academy STEAM class to create LEGO robots -- building and coding their robots, improving their designs as a team.

Yesterday, a group of Classroom-based students attended the Kitsap Youth Rally for Human Rights. They had fun, learned a lot, and built a great community! Barker Creek students are amazing. ❤
Fun facts:
Spencer designed the shirt for this year's event!
Emmabelle presented to a crowded room about service animal awareness! Dawn, the dog, did her job well too.
Good morning and happy Friday! Just a reminder that this Monday, March 4th, is a snow make-up day. Our campus will be open and Classroom-based classes will run as usual.
Happy Monday! A quick reminder that we will be hosting family conferences on Thursday and Friday this week. As a result, there will be no Classroom-based classes or VA STEAM on Thursday, and no PPP Enrichment on Friday.

As of last week, BCCS students have cumulatively filled over 1000 bags! Thank you to our wonderful students, and thank you to the Backpacks4Kids organization and all the great work they do.
We hope you'll enjoy your impromptu 5-day weekend! Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 20th.

Congratulations to our 1st Semester Owlstanding Students! These Classroom-based students are being recognized for their hard work during Hexes 1-3. Way to go!
Kudos to Barker Creek's Savannah Steele, who was selected as the WST Professional Medical Careers Program Student of the Semester!
As her instructor put it, this award was not based solely on "her GPA (which was the top of both the AM and PM classes) but also her initiative, integrity, positivity, workmanship and teamwork. Savannah has demonstrated that she is a motivated self starter, who enjoys helping others and consistently has her assignments done ahead of schedule. When her work is done she uses her time productively by seeking out additional learning opportunities. Through her demonstration of compassion and drive she has established herself as a class mentor, someone that anyone in the class can turn to for assistance. She displays a consistent positive attitude that is infectious to be around and I believe she is a true asset to the overall class climate."
Way to go, Savannah!!
