For someone who may be seeking treatment for a musculoskeletal condition, it's important to understand the difference between orthopedic providers and physical therapists. While both healthcare professionals specialize in the treatment of conditions related to bones, joints, and muscles, their roles and areas of expertise differ in significant ways. That means the best options for treatment depend on your personal needs.

I don't know about you, but we were feeling pretty lucky this past St. Patrick's Day 😊
Going to the gym, whether you're running, lifting, or some combination of the two, is daunting, but it is an excellent way to maintain your physical health. Unfortunately, injuries are far too common for new gym-aspirational athletes. Those injuries can range from minor strains and to more serious, long-term injuries. To help you stay safe and injury-free in the gym, here are 5 ways to prevent injuries in the gym:
Our providers are dedicated to providing exceptional care to every patient who walks through our doors. Whether your injury is because of sports, work, or just plain everyday life, we're here to help you get back on your feet. We do our individual and collective best to ensure that everyone in our community, each patient we serve, receives the personalized care they need.
It'll be hard to beat last night's all providers meeting! We had the opportunity to celebrate our new and long-time providers while discussing our mission to do our individual and collective best to serve our patients through conservative MSK healthcare. A big thank you to Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe for hosting our team.
Additionally, we had the bittersweet opportunity to support one of our longest serving providers, Mr. Joseph Lindahl PA-C, as he begins his transition into a very joyful retirement, while still serving as a mentor for Sport Orth. Mr. Lindahl has been one of our longest-serving providers and has made countless contributions to our team during his 46 years in orthopedic care. We look forward to seeing where he goes next!

If you work at a desk most of the day, this stretch is going to be your new favorite. 🙏🏽
We had a very special visit today in our North Murfreesboro clinic.
Our friend here was outside playing just a little bit too hard today, but we’re happy he could come visit us and get right back on his feet! 😊
Our very own Dr. Kaelin had the opportunity to speak at the Sumner County Schools Nursing Inservice Day. We had a wonderful time discussing the importance of musculoskeletal care with the RN's that are often the first line of their student's care.
Once a year, every third Monday in January, we get to celebrate one of the most influential in American history, Martin Luther King Jr. The first official nationwide celebration of MLK took place in 1986, despite opposition from legislators for nearly 20 years following the death of Dr. King. Have a Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
If you've EVER done yoga, you've probably heard of the child's pose. The move is simple for beginners and considered to be quite restorative.
In physical therapy, the child's pose helps patients
recovering from back pain by stretching and engaging muscles in the upper back, shoulders, obliques, and hip flexors.
This stretch can help relieve pain from tech neck or office posture.
Here's how to do the stretch at home:
1. Get on all fours on a comfortable surface like a carpet or yoga mat.
2. Slowly sit back on your hips and extend your arms ahead of you.
3. Breath out and let your body relax and "fall" into the stretch.
4. Hold the pose to feel a stretch on your obliques.
