Congratulations to Dr. Colleen Cain on earning her Doctor of Naturopathy!

Dr. Colleen recently graduated from Trinity School of Natural Health and is a Board Certified Doctor of Naturopathy (ANWPB). Her passion and goals are to help patients discover and address the root causes of their health issues, rather than simply masking symptoms with medication. Dr. Colleen’s journey into healthcare began as a licensed massage therapist, where she developed a foundational understanding of the body’s innate ability to heal. Over time, she expanded her skill set to include various modalities such as auricular acupuncture, REIKI Master, VRT (Vibrational Raindrop Technique), oncology massage, cupping/reflexology, and is a Zyto specialist.

Dr. Ouillette is honored to have Dr. Colleen on our team and is excited to integrate her services and expertise at Ouillette Chiropractic, to better serve our patients and community.

We are now offering auricular acupuncture by Colleen, ND, ADS, LMT, EMT! Colleen is certified as an Auricular Detoxification Specialist through NADA and is insured through the American Acupuncture Council.

What is auricular acupuncture and what are the benefits?
Acupuncture is the world’s oldest science. It has been around for 3,000 to 5,000 years. Auricular (ear) acupuncture is more recent, having been created and perfected in the last 80 years by both Chinese and French physicians who were seeking new techniques. It is based on the fact that the ear has points that reflect all areas of the body and are mapped out on the ear like an infant, upside down, in a fetal position.

The NADA protocol for auricular acupuncture outlines 5 specific points on each ear which promotes a natural detoxification. The 5 points include: the Shen Men (Spirit Gate), Autonomic Nervous System (fight or flight response), Kidney, Liver, and Lungs. Patients commonly report feelings of peace, calm, a reduction in anxiety, a reduction in cravings for substances (opioids, alcohol, ni****ne), and a reduction of physical pain.

Auricular acupuncture promotes relaxation, decreases anxiety, enhances stress management, enhances sense of purpose & well-being, promotes mental clarity, reduces cravings & withdrawal symptoms, improves sleep and increases energy.

Sessions are typically 30-45 minutes.
