The Center acts as an advocate for the rights and well-being of our senior citizens on a wide variety of issues. It is a place where they can access information about resources, programs and services available on the local, state and federal levels. Our center has activities that are designed to overcome loneliness, and seek socialization within the community.

The ATEL Program is launching a new program, ATEL AT Ambassadors, that offers peer-to-peer mentoring for individuals with hearing loss, promoting independence by demonstrating and teaching others with hearing loss about apps, accessibility features and assistive technology devices they use that have impacted their life, in hopes other individuals may benefit from also embracing technology.
If you know of a person with hearing loss that wants to learn more about assistive technology, or if you are an individual with hearing loss that would like to become an AT Ambassador, please contact the ATEL Program at (401) 486-3325 or email [email protected] .
ATEL Assistive Technology (AT) Ambassadors
AT Ambassadors share their personal experiences through peer-to-peer mentoring, promoting independence by showing others how to embrace technology. They demonstrate and teach others about apps and accessibility features for individuals with hearing loss, and assistive technology devices they use that has impacted their life, in hopes other individuals may benefit from it as well.

Scammers are using random Google Images and threatening victims by falsely claiming that they are being watched or monitored. They may send screenshots of public images, making it seem like they have access to your personal data, cameras, or location.
🔎 What You Should Know:
Scammers use public images from Google or social media to intimidate you into believing they’re spying on you.
They may demand money or sensitive information, claiming they’ll release more "evidence" of surveillance.
Do not believe these threats! These images are publicly available and do not indicate that anyone is actually watching you.
Protect Yourself:
Ignore the threats – do not respond or engage with the scammer.
Do NOT send money (crypto) or personal information.
Report these messages or emails to the platform contact your local police department if you do share information or money to these scammers.
