We had a visit from the farrier this morning. Everyone had beautiful hooves.
Meet G.W. He is ready for his forever home.
G.W. is in his 20s and still has a lot of life in him. He spent 10 years as a therapy horse for brain trauma patients. Before that he seems to have been over ridden and has a broken down knee as a result. However, he does not let it slow him down. Since he has been on msm, his leg only shakes if he really over does it by running around the field. G.W. will come running when you call or whistle for him. He loves his attention. We suggest him for a companion or an emotional therapy horse. He stands for grooming, vet, farrier, bathes, loads and likes to talk to you.
For more information on G.W., contact us at 734 748-9057.

We are excited for our latest fundraiser because you do not have to donate any money!! We are collecting gently worn, used shoes to raise money for the care of the horses that have been surrendered or came from the slaughter pipeline. This may include feed, supplements, veterinarian care, farrier, etc. Not only do you help us, but the shoes get a second life with those in need. It's a double donation!!
This fundraiser will kick off August 2nd at our Adrian Downtown First Fridays booth and will run until September 1st. We have several local businesses that are offering drop off convenience. They include Adrian: Adrian District Library, Bella Blush, CR Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Faith Baptist Church, Premier Bank, Pet Supplies Plus, Tink and the Frog, Tractor Supply; Britton: Kapnick Orchards; Chelsea: Camping World; Tecumseh: Family Farm and Home, Martin's Home Center, Old National Bank, Tilton Shoes. You may also drop off at our office located at 1497 1st St Adrian.

Some good news out of Washington: the House and Senate Agriculture Appropriations bills include provisions that bar horse slaughter facilities from operating in the United States, signaling strong bipartisan support to ensure that horse slaughter cannot resume in the US.
Take action to stop the export of US horses to slaughter in other nations by encouraging your legislators to support the SAFE Act: https://awionline.org/action-center #/487
