The Brockton Fire Department sends High Fives to The Charity Guild Food Pantry in support of September being Hunger Action Month.
BFD is kicking off the month with what has become a tradition (since 2018) - taking our High Five Photo with Engine 5.
TCG’s Food Pantry has been serving The Brockton community since 1971.
Their High Five for $5 Hunger Action Month campaign reminds us that there are local community members in need of food assistance.
$5=10 MEALS
A $5 donation helps purchase food for 10 meals.
BFD nominates the City of Brockton, Brockton Police Department, Brockton Veterans' Services to post a share a HIGH FIVE for The Charity Guild

Monday Mention on a Tuesday 😊
In just two weeks we will reopen our Food Pantry at Brockton High School.
On this sunny Tuesday morning, we are sharing a great big THANK YOU with Hope Worldwide Massachusetts HOPE worldwide Massachusetts and Boston Church of Christ South Coastal Region Boston Church of Christ, South Coastal Region for hosting a backpack and food drive to help us prepare for our reopening in the weeks ahead.
The 120 backpacks that you collected and donated and the snacks and meals that you shopped for from our food wish list will help us get through the first 2 Fridays of service. And your generous financial donation is already helping us stretch our budget further this school year.
Sending a special thank you to Brockton Public School’s Yvette Joyce for leading this program. Yvette - thank you for taking this on and making it such a success!
(And to our friend, Kathy Sheridan .sheridan.1214 thank you for passing the baton to Yvette…the volunteerism that you cultivated for us over the last few years through Hope Worldwide and the church is in great hands and continues today. 💚)

Sending a thank you to our good friends from .club.of.brockton who faithfully volunteer with us every month to help us deliver over 1,000 pounds of food to 24 of the senior citizens who call upon our Food Pantry for assistance.
Each week, we receive new requests for home deliveries. We do what we can to support those in need with the help of our dedicated volunteers who arrive at 501 Main bright and early, rain or shine.
We could not do what we do without YOU. It takes a city and we are grateful that you are a part of ours. 💚

Catching up on a Tuesday afternoon and want to thank our good friends at for inviting us to join their Caring Crew again this year for their great big annual volunteer event.
The toiletry kits (complete with all the daily hygiene essentials) that you bundled up for us will be available to clients that visit both our main Food Pantry facility at 501 Main Street and to the students that visit our location inside Brockton High School.
We sincerely appreciate all of your help and admire the work that you do to help our neighbors. 💚

Yesterday was a Brockton Farmers Market kind of Friday…and while it was incredibly - INCREDIBLY hot we enjoyed being a part of this special day to kick off Massachusetts Farmers Market Week. 🥦🍑🌽🫑🧄🫐🥕🥒🍆🥬🌶️
TCG’s Emma Williams and Naika Petit-Frere joined Janice Johnson-Plumer from Brockton Public Schools . And after Janice helped families apply for SNAP benefits we helped sign community members up for BAHN cards - connecting them to a network of Food Pantry partners that take a cooperative approach to addressing Food Insecurity.
