Late afternoon on Monday, the most graceful sound of music was heard coming from St. Joseph’s, The Chapel of the Sorrowful Mother.

The melody was simply beautiful but it went far beyond what one could hear. There was an overwhelming feeling of peace and indescribable emotion that called straight to the heart.

This moment captured the essence of life and love between a father and a son.

At St. Joe’s, we are grateful for the beautiful moments.

SHARK WEEK🦈 commenced yesterday with some JAW-SOME artwork! 🌊🎨

We had a fun time painting rocks! 🎨🪨

On National Go Fishing Day, we fish!🐡 Residents had a lot of fun dropping a line🎣 & catching fish🐠 this afternoon. “The Charlie Team” won the “Lucky Ducks” in this tournament. 🐤

Happy Father’s Day🛠️ to all the men who have made a difference in someone’s life💙. We enjoyed Dads & Donuts🍩 followed by an axe throwing competition🪓(we may have allowed a lady or 2 to participate 😆). Later, DJ Jim had everyone singing🎤to the music during a fun game of SINGO! 🎶

Residents enjoyed celebrating Flag Day🇺🇸playing their favorite game of Bingo and creating holiday wreaths.

Today we became familiar with Haitian culture thanks to our Activity Assistant, Rosa ❤️. We created Haitian flags🇭🇹, enjoyed Blanc Manje🍧 - a tropical dessert made by Chef Mark🧑🏽‍🍳 and played a game of True or False as we learned fun facts about Haiti!

The rain did not stop the Veterans Brotherhood MC 🏍️from visiting our Veterans🫡 this morning at St. Joes. Everyone enjoyed coffee, donuts, stories & smiles.😃🍩🫡🇺🇸🏍️

Our Team really knows how to have fun! Nothing like a friendly ax toss challenge between friends to close out Wizard of Oz Week. 🎯🪓❤️

There’s No Place Like (OUR) Home! Thank you 🙏🏻 for following us this week as we travelled to the magical land of Oz. Today, Glinda 🧚🏻‍♀️ helped us find our way back to the farm where our residents enjoyed baby animal visits 🐇🐐from Hidden Gem Homestead. Always remember, “It’s not where you go, it’s who you meet along the way.” ❤️

On Day 4 of Nursing Home Week, we revealed the Wizard of Oz 🧙hiding in his office playing BINGO! Residents and staff enjoyed winning a variety of prizes 👕🎁 throughout the day in the Emerald City aka St. Joseph’s Manor.

Wizard of Oz Day 3 -
What a great day we had “Following The Yellow Brick Road” today! Residents & staff enjoyed the Tin-Man Axe Toss🪓, Dorothy & Toto’s Picnic 🧺 with music by Gina🎵 and a Quiz Show so the Scarecrow could find his brain! 🧠

We continue to enjoy The Wizard of Oz Events at St. Joe’s. On Day 2, we survived the “Twister🌪️”& had a visit from the Wicked Witch🧙‍♀️! We ended up in Munchkin Land where we met a Lollipop Kid & enjoyed munchkins & music by Marc🎸. (Thank you to Sunset Hospice for providing our sweet snacks)!

Please follow us along the Yellow Brick Road as the “Manor” celebrates Day 1 of Nursing Home Week. Our theme is the Wizard of Oz & today was all about rainbows🌈. We enjoyed coffee brews☕️ & rainbow tattoos in the morning & painted on canvas 🎨while enjoying rainbow refreshments this afternoon. We hope you enjoy our photos! 💜

On Sunday May 12th we held the May Crowning Liturgy honoring the Blessed Mother Mary and all mothers for a Mother’s Day Mass.

Happy Mother’s Day from “The Manor”. Our ladies enjoyed Mass, music & memories while wearing their beautiful wrist corsages today.🙏🏻🎵🌸

Sunset Hospice sponsored an ice-cream sundae bar 🍨to honor our hard working & dedicated nurses ❤️🩺

Residents created thank you plaques for the wonderful nurses at St. Joes ❤️. Happy Nurses Week!
