We are still working on a catering menu and hope to have something up as soon as I unwind myself from tax season, which has been keeping me insanely busy, so I apologize for the delay in posting our available items for April.

I think I was able to fix the glitch in our system, so if you place an order, it should give you the correct day for pickup of Friday, April 15th at 10:00am. Because you asked for it....this month we have 1/2 trays of Kugelis available just in time for Easter! We are also making French Blueberry Clafoutis.

Next month we are aiming to change the pickup date to a Saturday to accommodate more people, as well as possibly offer bacon buns and Charlie's sourdough loaves.

It's been a while, we have regrouped our brains, and as promised we are beginning an online endeavor. We miss all of you and lets be honest, we have a baking/cooking addiction.

The idea is to provide a pickup in Brookfield each month, and hopefully add some catering items that can be ordered in advance and delivered to you.

So, for the Month of March, we have Irish Soda Bread, and Chocolate Chip Cookies by the dozen, both regular and gluten free.

The pickup for these items will be Friday, March 11, 2022 from 10am till 11:00am, at the parking area by the Hollywood/Zoo Metra stop. Please note, the website may give you a different date, this is not correct. I just can't seem to figure out that glitch in the system yet. Pickup is Friday March 11, 2022.

We have a couple frying pans, a rice cooker, a French press,box grater, bread bannetons, and holiday wine glasses..all for free! If interested please come by and pick it up!

We hope it finds a good home! Free table and china cabinet set. We will be at the cafe from 9am to 1pm tomorrow if anyone wants to pick it up. It's extremely heavy, I recommend 3 to 4 strong people.

Everything must go!!! We have plates, cups, teapots, sconces, shelving and so much more!!
We will be at cafe Friday and Saturday from 9am till 2pm. If you see something you like please make us an offer!

After many long hours of debating the best choices and so many different ideas, we have come to the conclusion that we will be closing the cafe. We cannot begin to express our gratitude for the support we recieved and the friendships we have made. You all will be missed!

We do hope to resume online sales in the future once we work out the logistics.

The cafe is closed this weekend for the Labor Day holiday, but please join us for our final weekend September 10th through the 12th.

Whether it’s to toast at home or dine in at the cafe with butter and garden seasoning or with a sunny side up egg, our homemade sourdough English muffins make for a yummy savory treat.

We will now be open on Sundays, as we gradually add Thursday’s and Wednesdays to our open days. We will let you guys know when we add the extra weekdays to our schedule.

We will be closed this Sunday as we try and make a game plan for being open more days during the week. For this Saturday we are featuring chive biscuits with fritatta, along with a Specialty Coffee from the Ngozi Province of Burundi.

Katharine headed the chive and pepper jack cheese biscuit making, walking Ruth through the mixing and baking process and Alex pulled off the bacon and onion sauté with the eggs over easy, all to perfection. This is off the hook!

A Huge Thank You to Fill My Jar for the amazing deliciousness! Charlie is quite happy!

This week we are featuring peach turnovers with vanilla ice cream. Also sporting a Seasonal Specialty Coffee of Burundi Ngoza Natural, brewed as a Long Black. What a treat!

Charlie and I will be walking with our kidney family, The Grateful Eight, in the 2021 Kidney Walk for the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois. Please join us, as we raise funds to support this great cause!

Crispy apple turnovers with a Specialty Coffee, yum! What a great light snack.

Garlic and cheddar knot with a side of chunky tomato sauce topped with mozzarella cheese. A wonderful light snack for a Sunday afternoon.

At the end of a great day of service at the cafe, we realize that we had inadvertently sold someone a test baked sourdough bread loaf. If anyone has a loaf marked “small” on their bag, we are are whole heartedly sorry for providing you with a substandard product. We were testing out a smaller sized bread loaf during our bake this week and the two small loaves we baked went way past their bake time. Please come back to the cafe with your “Small” loaf so that we can provide you with a more appropriately sized and properly baked sourdough loaf.

Pulled pork with Sriracha mayo, eggs sunny side up, all on top of a Dubliner Cheese biscuit. Now that’s a breakfast, or even a light lunch. For the Memorial Day weekend we’ve also made bacon buns for everyone to stock up on. Looking for a much more substantial sandwich, check out our pulled pork sandwich with Sriracha and cheddar cheese.

Hi Everyone. We hope all are doing well. Just a heads up that in honor of Mother’s Day, this Sunday, the Cafe will be closed while we spend time with our family. We’ll be open on Friday and Saturday from 8:30am till 2:30pm for your pastry, coffee, breakfast, and lunch needs. Here’s a a picture of the chicken with Filipino Adobo sauce, from last week. This week we’ll be having Kugelis.

For this weekend we are featuring chicken leg quarters with a Filipino Adobo sauce, with a side of rice. Makes for an incredible lunch.

Due to the shutoff of our water supply, for for Village water/sewer project, the cafe will be closed tomorrow, Friday, April 30th, but we will be open for the rest of the weekend. Hope to see you then!😊

Chocolate Almond Bar for dessert. Chocolate shortbread cookie for the base, almond cream cheese filling, chocolate ganache icing, with slivered almonds to top. Add a coffee and you’re set.
