As the only foundation that addresses the needs of Brookline as a whole, the Brookline Community Foun
We partner with donors like you to raise money to support the causes you care about. We work with community groups to assess needs and solve problems through targeted grantmaking. We lead on important community issues to identify levers of change and to move Brookline forward.

✨ A huge shoutout to the incredible performers who brought so much energy to the event: Boston Bhangra, Trevini Dancers, The Electric Five Band, Koliba Afro Pop, Little Groove, and more! Your performances made Parkfest truly unforgettable. 🙌 And a big thanks to the amazing community organizations who tabled at the event, providing essential resources and information to our community.
🌳 Parkfest was created to celebrate the beauty and accessibility of our parks. These spaces are for everyone to enjoy, and your involvement helps us keep them vibrant and welcoming. Want to get more involved? Whether it’s helping keep our parks clean, finding a park in your neighborhood, or exploring volunteer opportunities, check out Brookline DPW and our event partners, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. Your support keeps our green spaces thriving!

This event is free and open to everyone!
We want to showcase our incredible partners and have several ways for you to get involved:
🎤 Perform at Parkfest: Are you a musician, DJ, dancer, or part of a performance arts organization? We're looking for talented performers to bring the "Fest" to Parkfest!
🛍️ Table at Parkfest: Set up a table to share your work with attendees. We'll provide a table, chairs, and help with loading/unloading supplies. You bring your team and any display materials or handouts. It's a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community, gather feedback, or demonstrate your products.
📚 Community Table: Can't join us in person? No problem! Provide materials like handouts, maps, QR codes, or business cards to be featured at Parkfest's Community Table, which will be staffed by event staff.

Jack Schleifer will lead a walk-through Olmsted Park, focusing on the basic principles of tree physiology and identification, and teaching participants how to identify the most common tree species in and around the Emerald Necklace parks.

The Brookline Community Foundation proudly announces that our FY25 Safety Net Grant Program is opening tomorrow, Friday, July 19th! The Safety Net Grant Program supports organizations and community groups that provide critical access to essential services and emergency assistance for individuals and families, particularly for those who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Safety Net grants can be used to support a range of activities related to providing, adapting, or expanding vital essential services and/or addressing crises such as fires or pandemics.
This year’s BCF Safety Net Grants are provided with federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funding awarded to BCF from the Town of Brookline.

The Brookline Community Foundation is proud to announce that BCF Board Member David Mann has established the Edna Mann Scholarship Fund for Social Justice and Equity in memory of his mother. This scholarship is awarded to a senior who has shown outstanding commitment to social justice and equity in the US, particularly in the Massachusetts, Boston, or Brookline areas, through organizing, activism, and advocacy.

As part of our commitment to inclusivity and responsiveness, we are excited to announce our next program, B.GREAT! The B.GREAT (Brookline Grants for Racial Equity And Transformation) program, which has been built upon the foundation laid by the Racial Equity Grant Program and Committee, is dedicated to addressing racial equity gaps affecting BIPOC communities in Brookline, with a specific focus on fostering a more equitable recovery from the pandemic.
This program will include grantmaking and other activities designed in partnership with a facilitator to prioritize people and communities of color most impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. B.GREAT will include built-in leadership from those most affected by inequities, collaboration with various groups, and capacity-building for individuals, groups, and organizations that can contribute to building a better Brookline for everyone.
B.GREAT Committee Member Responsibilities:
• Work with the Committee to set priorities for the next 20 months (July 2024 - December 2026) and determine the use of ARPA funding to address racial equity community needs and gaps in Brookline
• Participate in approximately 6 meetings/discussions with the Committee to plan B.GREAT programming and/or grantmaking
• Help promote the B.GREAT program within the community to engage potential grant applicants and donors
• Participate in the program planning and implementation, including potentially a grant application review process, which may include review of proposal submissions, calls/visits with applicants, and meetings/discussions with the Committee to align around funding recommendations made to BCF Board of Trustees
• Provide input into grant programs and processes for future grant cycles

About B.GREAT:
Are you passionate about addressing racial equity gaps and fostering positive transformation in Brookline? The B.GREAT (Brookline Grants for Racial Equity And Transformation) program seeks dynamic individuals to join our NEW committee. As part of our commitment to inclusivity and responsiveness, we are particularly eager to welcome members from low-income backgrounds, BIPOC communities, and those with historical marginalization. The B.GREAT program addresses racial equity gaps affecting BIPOC communities in Brookline. By becoming a committee member, you can actively contribute to positive change and help shape the program's impact on our community.
The goal of B.GREAT is a more equitable recovery from the pandemic.
