The Brookline Recreation Summer Concert Series continues TONIGHT from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Fisher Hill Reservoir Park! Bring the whole family for a great performance from Koliba!

Reminder: The Evelyn Kirrane Aquatics Center will be closed for the Labor Day weekend, Friday 8/30-Monday 9/2.

We will reopen on Tuesday 9/3.

Registration for try-outs will open on Wednesday 8/21 at 12pm. Spots in EACH session are limited!!

For try-outs, please register based on your child’s age as of 11/1/2024. This is the age cut-off date for our swim league.
We ask that swimmers 8 & Under be at a minimum of American Red Cross Level 5 or higher, or possess commensurate skills.
Swimmers ages 9 & Older be at a minimum of Level 6, or possess commensurate skills.

During try-outs, swimmers will be evaluated on the four competitive strokes (front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly).
Swimmers will also be evaluated on their starting dives and flip/open turns. And if needed, we may do time trials.

Spots on the competitive swim team are limited.
We allow for qualified returning Dolphins to complete early registration. This will then inform us of how many spots we have available for those trying out.
Results from try-outs will NOT be announced until late September.

The Dolphins season will start Monday 10/21.
The tentative dates for the Championship swim meets are: Sat 3/1 and Sun 3/2.
Swim meet will begin in early December and run through early March. Swimmers MUST attend a minimum of SIX meets in order to qualify for Championships (and be invited back to join the team the following year).

Swimmers must attend a minimum of two practices/week.
Practices are offered:
10&Under: Monday-Thursday 5:15-6pm
11&12: Monday-Thursday 6-7pm
13&Over: Monday-Thursday 7-8pm

The Evelyn Kirrane Aquatics Center is looking to hire a NEW Head Coach for the Brookline Recreation Swim Team.

This program is for competitive swimmers ages 6-18.
The competitive season will run October-March, with an opportunity for year-round (part-time) employment.

Note: Due to high demand for swim lessons, ALL Aquatics/EKAC programs are on a lottery system. Please be sure to enter the lottery by Tuesday 8/6. The selection process will begin on Wednesday 8/7.

When the Town of Brookline calls a heat emergency, the Evelyn Kirrane Aquatics Center becomes available FREE of charge for RESIDENTS who want to come cool off.

Available hours on Wednesday 7/17:
- Shallow Pool: 7:00AM-9:00am; 1:30PM-4:30PM; and 8:00PM to 8:45PM
- Dive Well: 7:00AM to 10:00AM and 1:00PM-4:00PM

Rules:
1. Free swimming is for lesson pool and diving well only, and only when those pools are open per the EKAC schedule.
2. Space is limited. If there is a wait, staff may limit the time allowed in the pool.
3. Residents MUST bring proof of residency in order to swim for free
4. Deep-end test required to use diving well.
5. No street clothes are allowed in the pool. Proper swim attire must be worn
6. No spectators on the pool deck.
7. Any swimmer under the age of 7 must be 1:1 with an adult that is in the pool and within arms-reach.
8. Any swimmer under the age of 11 must have an adult 18 years or older in the aquatics center at ALL TIMES.
