coordinator of Latino Ministry since 2010, has decided to step down. Luz has been instrumental in developing our Latino Ministry along-side Fr. Bill Bueche, fostering a strong sense of cultural and linguistic heritage among our Latino parishioners.

Our Parish

Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center, MN, is a culturally diverse Catholic Community staffed by the Redemptorists. We have over 2300 registered families coming from over 37 countries. The largest groups of parishioners are English Speaking Americans and Latinos primarily from Mexico, Ecuador, El Salvador, and several other Latin American countries. We also have a large African community coming from Liberia, Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, the Central Republic of Africa, and several other countries. We also have a large Asian community from Vietnam, the Philippines, and Laos. Our parish enjoys a diversity of age, financial background, and education. We have over 250 children in our Religious Education program and a parish school that has students in pre-K through 8th grade. We regularly have services in English, Spanish, and Swahili. Our diversity is a blessing!
