On this International Women’s Day, we wanted to take a moment to say hi as the two women who are honored to co-own this little shop and community space — where we also get to work with countless other incredible women both locally and worldwide. It’s safe to say that the vast majority of the goods we sell, the makers we host at our popups, the artists who lead our workshops, the activists who help organize community events….. so many badass women make this space what it is. Who run the world 💃🏾

As for the two of us, we’re Annie and Meredith, hi hello hola! 💞 We’re two people who are so lucky to share one business, one brain, and one ever-evolving dream for what we hope this space can be.

Meredith (originally from Austin, TX) is a former middle school teacher with two school-age kids who pivoted from teaching into taking over the Brooklyn Artery from the original founders back in 2020. Annie (originally from Quito, Ecuador) is a community-engaged visual artist and organizer who also wields a mean spreadsheet, who worked closely with the Artery for several years before joining Meredith as co-owner in 2022.

Together, we feel so blessed by how we share our values and visions, how we complement each other’s skills and quirks, and how much we crack each other up. We’re honored to run this space alongside a team of wizards, and to be a part of this community of fellow business owners and neighbors who continue to show up for each other through pandemics, floods, fires, and daily life in this crazy world.

We’re here today and every day celebrating the strength, worth, & grit of women worldwide, as we also continue to demand full rights, full pay, full bodily autonomy, full maternal health care, and full joyous lives for all the women of Planet Earth ❤️‍🔥

🌝⚖️ Full moon in Libra ⚖️🌝

We invite you to join us in a full moon circle on March 24th where we will embark upon a profound exploration of divine rage — an emotion that is often obscured by shame.

This full moon falls under the sign of Libra, the sign of relationship and beauty. Libra is known for its pursuit of balance and harmony. While peace is the ultimate goal for Libra, within this sign lies the potential for repressed anger, stemming from its inclination towards people-pleasing.

In this circle, we will shed light on the ways we mask our own anger and delve into the concept of Divine Rage — a formidable force that serves as a guardian, signaling our needs and delineating our boundaries. The intention is to transmute this potent energy into a catalyst for empowerment and self-realization.

We invite folks to come dressed in comfortable light-colored clothing and to bring a journal as we prepare to move through various practices on our journey together.

Register soon as space is limited! Follow the linktree in our bio 💫

We were so excited to get to meet one of our amazing vendors today, Melissa of — whose goods we were thrilled to discover this past fall 🥰

Melissa founded Bonita Fierce candles in 2020, first as a Covid lockdown project which soon became a full-time enterprise. What’s so meaningful about this brand is the way it celebrates and amplifies Latin@ culture in its aromas — Coquito, Abuela’s Bakery, Cafecito con Leche — and in its very identity.

Melissa’s evolution out of the corporate world and into her own self-made jefa status is inspiring and exciting to be a part of — and most of all we’re simply obsessed with her candles 🥰🕯️❤️ Come check them out!!
