Breezeway Iris Gardens Breezeway Iris Garden is a family business started by George Bacon and his mother Doris Bacon.
The garden is located just outside of Madison Wisconsin at the family home on 80 rolling acres we have owned since 1960. Doris always had Iris in her garden ever since I can remember. I grew up helping Mom care for her Iris and was fascinated by their amazing display of blossoms every June. Breezeway Iris garden is the culmination of our life long love of Iris. Today's beauties are all brought to you by hybridizer Richard Ernst. I have been trying to make a hybridizer's collection of his introductions for the past three years for HIPS (Historic Iris Preservation Society) . The first 5 that bloomed this year were all incorrectly id's as purchased but these all look correct to me.

Happy Mother's Day! Lots of beauties opening every day. The sun and wind were constant yesterday so with my sister's help I was experimenting using a diffuser to minimize shadows.

Almost all the SDB's are in bloom with several AB's plus the IB's are starting! The season is progressing!

Our Website opens for orders tomorrow - May 1st. Remember to be patient and understanding in the opening rush most of the low inventory varieties will disappear from your shopping carts as they sell out. 5 more are open and showing off! Temps are predicted to be around 70 each day this week so they should slowly continue opening. Just the way I like it. Not too hot so they just pop all at once.
