We are soon approaching the start of Valentine's week. note...I said VALENTINE WEEK. There is no reason to delay the showing of your love and affection until Sunday, February 14th. Hopefully, when you make the decision to buy your gift of choice for your spouse or significant other...that choice involves fresh flowers.

There are no harder working folks than the retail florists that are resident in your community on main street. Don't forget them this holiday.

The last 10 years have not been especially kind to the retailers. The lousy economy has hit them with its best shot...and yet they keep getting off of the mat to work their design creativity and artistry for their customers. They are truly artists with what they can accomplish with fresh flowers.

Over the last 10 years, there has been an increase of those that show up at the 11th hour to sell flowers (the supermarkets, the drug stores, the big box stores...even the Home Depot types). If you want the very best...visit your local “brick & mortar” florist in your community. Don't forget them as they are struggling hard for their very existence. Often these guys and gals work 7 days a week...10+ hours a day for you. They are there for you at all of the major times...birth, death and all points in between. They are the ones that you visit for that giveaway...that door prize for your social or civic club. Please give the local retail florist the opportunity to take care of your order this holiday. They will reward you with quality product and excellence in design.

And while I'm on a roll...stay away from those "1-800 & Pro-somebody" operations. They are middlemen at best and will charge you a small fortune for additional services that are not needed. In short...go right to the source...visit or call your local retail florist. They are there for you Valentine week and every week.
