Broomfield Community Foundation
We exist to inspire, connect, impact and strengthen Broomfield through the power of philanthropy.
At least one staff member is signed up to give blood! How about you?
Wednesday, July 17 Congresswoman Brittany Petterson along with Hannah Mullen, District Director, and Alejandra MunguiaCuevas, Constituent Services Representative, spent the lunch hour with BCF Executive Director, Dion West, Tiffany Stockard, Office Manager, and Board members Claire, Debby and Lisa.
BCF shared what our top five concerns are for Broomfield and highlighted the many great things about Broomfield.
The BCF is honored to manage the financial aspects of the Jimmy Griffin Scholarship. Help raise funds through the annual car wash this Saturday from 8am-12 at the Legacy High School.
__________________________
Jimmy Griffin was a junior at Legacy High School and a member of the football team. Tragically, Jimmy passed away in a car accident on October 12, 2003. Jimmy was a giver. He filled people up with a unique ability to make people laugh.
Jimmy had a sincere sense of compassion for others, and a selflessness that was demonstrated through his gift of life as an organ donor. It is for these attributes that this scholarship is created.
This memorial scholarship is awarded to a senior on the Legacy High School football team through an application process each fall. Player must remain in good standing and plans to attend an institution of higher learning (2-year, 4-year, or Trade School)
Come Support Legacy Football at our Annual Car Wash on
July 13 at Legacy High School 8:00am-12pm
All donations are tax deductible. https://www.facebook.com/LegacyFootballBoosters
The BCF Youth Advisory Council fundraised in 2023-2024, following by a through grant review cycle in Spring 2024 awarding funds to three different local non-profits that serve youth in need: The Anchor House, Broomfield Early Childhood Council, and Five Star Education Foundation. As a community foundation, we achieve a multiplier effect, together.
At the Broomfield Community Foundation we believe in the combined power of community, generosity and philanthropy to create a greater Broomfield for us all.
We know that positive change happens when people come together for common good. Although we each have our own passions and purpose, we are defined by the connections between us. We know that when we all give, we all rise. We are stronger together than alone. Together, we can uplift and inspire a high quality of life for us all.
Did you know Broomfield has three authorized, safe places for the unhoused to park overnight? The program, operated by the Colorado Safe Parking Initiative (CSPI), also provides the approved applicants with an assigned case manager who helps individuals connect with resources. Due to funding shortfalls, the Broomfield Community Foundation (BCF) issued a $20,000 grant this past month. Link to the Daily Camera article to gain insight on short-term unhoused solutions as the City and County of Broomfield and local non-profits work to address affordable housing.
