Join us for a powerful conversation with Professor Kristin Henning on the juvenile justice system, the criminalization of Black youth and interrupting the school-to-prison pipeline.
Kristin Henning is the Blume Professor of Law and Director of the Juvenile Justice Clinic and Initiative at Georgetown Law, where she and her law students represent youth accused of delinquency in Washington, DC. Kris was previously the Lead Attorney for the Juvenile Unit of the D.C. Public Defender Service and is currently the Director of the Mid-Atlantic Juvenile Defender Center. She has been representing children accused of crime for more than 25 years. She is the author of The Rage of Innocence: How America Criminalizes Black Youth. She received her B.A. from Duke University, a J.D. from Yale Law School, and an LL.M. from Georgetown Law. See her full bio here.

Join Mountain Sky Conference for a study of "Bearing Witness in the Kin-dom: Living into the Church's Moral Witness through Radical Discipleship" by Darryl W. Stephens. The study will be on Wednesday evenings, starting this week on the 13th from 7-9:30pm and will continue on July 20, 27, and August 3.
Kathryn Witte, Mission u Dean, the Mountain Sky Conference Secretary for Global Ministries, and The United Methodist Church’s General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) Coordinator for the “Mission Together – Nigeria Project.,” is our leader for this study. All community members are invited to join!

These inspiring curricula include opportunities for intergenerational learning and are designed to be easy to use in small groups, local churches, vacation Bible schools, retreats and other settings.
Developed by diverse teams, each study was tested in different church settings and adapted and optimized based on feedback. And now they are ready for you!
