Congratulations Mike D. Gabriel ‘94 and Mary Vulcani.
The Archdiocese of Denver Office of Catholic Schools, in consultation with Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila, has appointed Mike D. Gabriel as the new principal of Holy Family High School. With an impressive 24-year tenure in high school education, Mike brings a wealth of experience and a profound dedication to Holy Family and its students.
Having served as assistant principal for the past eight years and previously as director of curriculum and staff development, Mike has consistently demonstrated his commitment to fostering academic, spiritual, and emotional growth among Holy Family's student body. Mike has also been Holy Family's head football coach since 2007 and brought home his first state title this past season. He will continue his head coaching role.
Mike's educational background coupled with his deep connection to Holy Family as a 1994 graduate, uniquely positions him to lead Holy Family into a bright future.
In addition, Mary Vulcani has been appointed as the new assistant principal of Holy Family. Mary has demonstrated exceptional leadership during her tenure as interim principal and throughout her ten-year career at Holy Family, where she has excelled in various roles, including Dean of Students and Director of Campus Ministry.
The search for a new president of Holy Family High School remains ongoing as we seek the perfect fit for this vital role. We remain committed to selecting a school president who will propel Holy Family High School forward, furthering our mission and enriching the educational experience for all our students.
Congratulations Mike and Mary!

💜
Holy Family High School is greatly saddened to share that former teacher and coach, Steve Blair, has entered into eternal life.
His legacy will continue to live inside and outside the walls of Holy Family.
Steve has been a valued teacher, coach, mentor, and tireless advocate for all of our students, and a trusted colleague and friend to our faculty and staff.
Steve began influencing lives in the Holy Family community as an assistant girls basketball coach in 1982 and was hired as a full-time faculty member in 1986.
During his time at Holy Family, Steve did it all. He has taught every course in our Social Studies department and has also coached boys and girls basketball, football, track, and boys and girls cross country.
Steve is remembered by years of graduates for his famous KAIROS talk called, “Obstacles to God’s Friendship”. The talk is a powerful plea to the students, asking them to examine the masks they all wear and to be more vulnerable to each other. It is a powerful reminder of Christ’s command to Love each other AS WE ARE!
Steve was born and raised in Wheat Ridge and starred as a student-athlete at Wheat Ridge High School & led the Farmers to the state football championship during his senior year and was named to the All-State team as a center.
He received his degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado and later earned a degree in Counseling to connect more deeply and to help his students beyond the classroom.
He used his education to follow his father’s footsteps and became a social studies teacher. Steve is known for constantly seeking positivity and often believing in people, even when they didn’t believe in themselves. His wisdom and constant support greatly impacted countless lives in our community.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
Congratulations Mike!
We are thrilled to introduce Mike Quintana as the next Girls Basketball Head Coach at Holy Family High School.
Mike has been an integral part of our school community for years. A former player and state champion, Mike graduated from Holy Family in 1998 and brings a deep understanding of our school's values and athletic culture.
His dedication to our boys' basketball program since 2018, serving in various assistant roles, speaks volumes about his commitment and expertise. With Mike at the helm, our girls' basketball program will continue to thrive and reach new heights.
Please join us in welcoming Mike Quintana as our new Girls Basketball Head Coach.
