The local woodworking community lost a gem this week.

Some of you may have known . For those of you who didn't, he owned Castle Rock Woodworks providing CNC services and laser engraving to the surrounding Front Range.

He battled vein issues that took both legs before causing complications that ultimately took his life. He leaves behind his wife, 3 young boys and countless others to navigate life without his larger than life presence. His tenacious spirit was infectious. His humor was wonderfully off color. His friendship was fierce. And his death is one that's marked with a reminder to give it all you've got. He most certainly did.

Not only has this client hired us for 3 previous projects, our first project for this client was the first install for our now project manager BJ. That was roughly 2 years ago. BJ has developed a true knack for design and client interaction over the years and always gets glowing feedback from our clients.

Another bittersweet day here as we say goodbye to an outstanding craftsman.

Joe’s last day was today and it marked 3 years of building one of a kind projects with a fine tuned, hyper detailed man. He helped to implement many of the processes we use in shop and a large number of SOP’s in the office. He started green but always had hunger for understanding more about his craft, keeping himself and us safe, finding more effective ways to the finish line and ensuring his product was something to be proud of. Truly one in a million from an employer’s perspective.

He’ll be missed as he pursues greater ventures with his family in California - he most certainly won’t be forgotten. Best of luck to ya Joe 😊👊🏻🤘🏻

We can take credit for the woodwork - the lighting we’re just thankful for.
