**Stay Cool, Stay Safe!**
Itβs been a mild summer, but as we work our way through these hot days it's crucial to be aware of the risks associated with heat stress. Here's a quick guide to keep you safe while working under the sun:
1. **Hydrate Regularly:** Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Avoid caffeine and alcohol as they can dehydrate you.
2. **Dress Appropriately:** Wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing. Donβt forget your hat and sunglasses!
3. **Take Breaks:** Schedule regular breaks in a shaded or cool area. Listen to your body and rest if you feel overheated.
4. **Know the Signs:** Watch out for symptoms of heat exhaustion, such as heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, and headache. Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms escalate to heat stroke, including confusion, fainting, and a high body temperature.
5. **Use Sunscreen:** Protect your skin from harmful UV rays by applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30.
