Did you know that “The Rose of Sharon” is actually considered by scholars as a kind of crocus growing as a lily among the brambles, ("Sharon", Harper's Bible Dictionary), or a crocus that grows in the coastal plain of Sharon (New Oxford Annotated Bible)?
We the church are considered to be his
“Rose of Sharon”.
“I am truly his rose, the very theme of his song. I’m overshadowed by his love, like a lily growing in the valley!“
Song of Songs 2:1 TPT
In Hebrew the word Sharon can be translated “his song.” She (the church) now sees herself as the one he sings over. The root word for “rose” can mean "overshadowed”.

The thorns speak of “the curse of sin.” Jesus wore a crown of thorns, for he took away the curse of sin.
The emblem of a lily was engraved on the upper part of the Pilars of Solomon’s Temple. Lilies are symbols of purity in the “temple” of our inner being.
