When doing a Silk Press less is more is the name of the game. After shampooing you should only use at max 2 products to do your Silk Press and make sure they are not heavy products like thick creams and butters. Use serums because they are designed to be light and non greasy which is perfect for bouncy flowy hair.

Shrinkage is a good sign that your hair is on a healthy state. If you stretch your hair and it the curls bounce back that is normal. Yeah we don't always like it but it is a necessary in your hair care.
