This Sunday: "Faith in Democracy" by Sarah Berel-Harrop (She/Her/They) Intern Minister, Texas UU Justice Ministry
The Unitarian Universalist Association's covenant connects "inclusive democratic processes" to our commitment to justice. As we approach another presidential election year, we'll explore ways we can center our call to dismantle racism and systemic oppression in our democracy work. How can we move beyond the moment of one election into transformative movement that actively prioritizes those who are the most impacted by systemic injustice?
Starting in August, Pride Community Center will be partnering with the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Brazos Valley to offer a peer support group for LGBTQ+ people regarding sexuality.
Sexuality Affirming Support Group will meet on:
Monday, August 26th
6-7 pm
Unitarian Universalist Church of the Brazos Valley
Please note: UUCBV provides a safe space to meet. These support group meetings are not an effort to proselytize. In point of fact, Unitarians subscribe to a set of beliefs, not a particular godhead.
Support group members will be able to meet without influence of religiousity, etc. Topics and discussion will be facilitated and come from attendees only.

Summer Solstice Potluck Party on June 20 at 7pm - Bring your favorite Summertime Dish!
We are excited to host our first Summer Solstice Party and Drum Circle celebrating the Longest Day of the Year!
This Solstice Celebration will be an Earth-based spiritual exploration including Drumming around a Fire, Sun Salutations, A Short Documentary on Stonehenge, and your favorite summer foods as we celebrate the Earth's motion through the cosmos and our place in within it.
Litha is a pagan holiday (also known as Midsummer), occurs on the summer solstice, and celebrates the beginning of summer. The traditions of Litha appear to be borrowed from many cultures and we look at how many ancient cultures celebrated the summer solstice in their own way.
See You There!

Our Story
Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion that encourages individuals to find their own spiritual path. We are united by shared values, not by creed or dogma. We are historically a Judeo-Christian based church; however, today many individual members identify with Atheism, Agnosticism, Buddhism, Humanism, Paganism, or with other philosophical or religious traditions. As such, Unitarian Universalists are encouraged to search for truth on many paths. Our congregations gather to nurture our spirits and put our faith into action by helping to make our world a better place.
Our congregation's covenant is as follows:
We, the members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Brazos Valley, covenant with one another to:
-affirm and promote an open, safe, and respectful environment in which to come together for worship and fellowship,
-encourage spiritual and intellectual growth in our children, youth, and adults,
-respect one another's viewpoints and experiences,
-offer our individual talents and resources, to be honest about what we can and cannot do, and
-celebrate our connections to one another and the sacred circle of life.
