Weaving together astrology and herbalism for a unique perspective on wellness

Happy Lughnasadh! Sharing the flower harvest I’ve been able to appreciate this summer so far 💐

The first picture im holding giant fresh fennel stalks. Fennel has a long long history of magical and medicinal use. Favored by Mercury, the hollow stems were most likely used for spirit travel between worlds. I’ve seen often in old texts and hymns that fennel stalks were used to hold fire as torches - how Prometheus gave fire to us here on earth. As well as the pole for Dionysus’ Thrysus staff. Love this plant 🌱
:
Slide 2 - Ever grateful for Milkweed
Slide 3 - a bountiful Zinnia harvest
Slide 4 - lovely chocolate peppermint flowers
Slide 5 - white Zinnias and Scabiosa
:
In case you didn’t know, I spend part of my time helping out my local florist , in which I get the opportunity to work with these lovely beings, all from locally grown flower farmers 💐

When a plant says “No.”
:
This time last year when this elder was in bloom I was so excited to come across it. I sat with it for a bit, meditating and talking with it. Lastly I asked if it felt comfortable creating an essence with me.
:
I remembered hearing just a day before from some source (I couldn’t find it again, so I can’t remember where I heard it at this point) that Elder requires silence. So I I figured if it was silent I would have an answer. But, it was noisy every time I asked. I asked once more, and for a clear sign. BAM! The neighboring tree branch above the elder fell down and almost hit me - I took that as the clearest NO that a plant was able to communicate with me.
:
I smiled, shocked and elated at the same time of how poignant that sign was. It certainly left an impression on me. A very strong no was a testament to its very strong energy.
:
But it’s in these moments that plants are still profound teachers. In this case it was to respect boundaries, and to trust in timing. Plants, like people, don’t exist solely for our benefit.
:
There are a lot of reasons why a plant might not give permission to work with it. It could be sick or not have the energetic capacity to offer right now. It could be giving its vital energy to ensuring its own reproductive cycles, or outputting important nutrients to richen the soil for other plants around it. Patience, trust, and respect for other’s process are valuable lessons we always need to be reminded of from these moments with plants.
:
I got the feeling from the Elder that I myself wasn’t in the right season to work with it. Which, is quite a Saturnian lesson and the planet that I personally associate with this plant. The air almost cools and drops down when near it in person, a hint to its medicine. The gravity of its presence requires a special reverence, like you are meeting a powerful crone.
Well Elder, I look forward to working with you when the time is right 🖤

EVERYTHING IS ON SALE! Making way for a massive shop update next week for almost a year’s worth of offerings that I’ve been testing behind the scenes. Making sure the slow magic and personal integration which each product feels aligned to share with you all.
:
This past year has been a big recuperation period for me which has forced me to evolve and adapt in new ways, and with that my relationship to this work has evolved as well. Mainly I’ve taken on the role of a student again, rather than assuming the role of teacher. All my projects lately have been for my personal expressive exploration rather than content to be consumed by the masses.
:
I want my work to be easily accessible, because this work belongs to the people. But so much of my work is reflected from me as a human - and I am not meant to be easily consumed.
:
And for a lot of people my work is difficult to digest. It’s intangible, subtle, invisible, felt, surreal, poetic, and spiralic. It’s not a quick fix, and at the same time has potential to shift your world within days.
:
I have struggled with that at first as a small business but I had to let go of trying to make it work for the masses, because it quickly lost its magic. Big lesson for myself as a human this year too.
:
Give yourself permission to unapologetically arrive as you are✨
:
And if you made it this far thanks for reading! The sale on my site ends next Wednesday April 20.✌️

This Friday’s New Moon in Aries mars the last lunar cycle before the next eclipse. The last container to distill and integrate what we’ve personally been moving thru and working on for the last 6 months.
In the Flower Essence Circle we’ll be exploring and learning from Forsythia, who will be radiantly guiding us through this portal. There is lots of planetary movement in the few weeks, including one of the biggest astrological milestones of 2022 the Jupiter Neptune conjunction.
I am part of the circle as a student as well, I take every essence along with everyone. I am really looking forward to the invitations that Forsythia will offer, knowing they may look different for each of us.
Generally what I do feel from this plant is grounded confidence in our roles and action. Let’s see which parts of ourselves it speaks to and offers tending.
The Circle closes for enrollment tomorrow, Monday March 28. If you are feeling the call, click the link in my bye-o to learn more and sign up!

The threshold opens again for the next cycle of🌼The Flower Essence Circle🌼
:
Our initiator in this new container is the blazing FORSYTHIA, usually blooming for a short period around the Spring Equinox, it’s brilliant yellow stars tend to spark a sign of much welcomed change in the eyes of those around it. Engaging with this plant as students, we’ll be exploring its energetic invitations or “medicine” over the course of the lunar cycle. Allowing ourselves to receive its wisdom for our overall wellbeing.
:
The structure of the year long container will be centered around the lunar cycles, rather than the zodiac seasons like last year.
🌑You’ll receive the essence in the mail by each New Moon
🌗we’ll meet for our monthly meditation circle around 3 weeks later on the Last Quarter Moon
🌘Waning moon week the next essence will be announced and shipping out (the container is ONLY open for this brief time to allow people to flow in and out of the circle)
:
Forsythia will be guiding us through the Aries Lunar Cycle (April 1 - 29th)
:
This self paced, yet gently guided container supports each person’s individual and unique experience through their own time, but with the support of everyone else moving thru it together in the Discord community.
:
Our monthly meet ups are held via Zoom where we share our experiences and have a deep meditation with the plant for further integration and more understanding of how it worked with us over the lunar cycle
:
Gentle weekly suggestions are offered to help you explore and notice the healing effects of the essence, for those who need it.
:
You can come and go as you like with a monthly subscription payment rather than being locked into a year long commitment (but that option is available with a discount)
:
You can sign up via my P*treon at the $18 tier OR via my website (separately from Paytreeon)
:
More info at the link in my bio🌼 FORSYTHIA closes for shipping by Monday March 28th!
: so excited to explore with you all again!

Our teachers 🌼 learning to deeply listen and connect with plants took time, it was an unlearning process, and one that is always evolving.
:
But once the door is open and we begin to listen, we receive new possibilities of healing.
:
Hellebore (slide 1) helped me not only release ways I’ve suppressed shame and embarrassment but transmute it into a different relationship with the pain I once attached to it
Lily of the Valley (2) connected me to my worthiness and acknowledgement that I deserve love, and that I am enough (discounted on my shop until tomorrow with the code:HEART)
Pink Lady Slipper (3) was a really potent being of self sacredness
Bittersweet nightshade (4) showed me how to laugh at assumptions. As well as the masks or roles that are assigned to us that aren’t really ours to identify with
Datura (5) is still an in process relationship but initially brought me to my self preservation instincts that needed to be observed.
Queen Anne’s Lace (6) is a friendly Mercury plant with psychic attunement that always allows me to see clearly in dreams without getting lost in misinterpretations of illusions.
But that’s just me, and it’s all always evolving!
If you’re curious as to how plant spirit communication and energetic herbalism works and what it’s like to “talk to plants” then I’d love to have you join us!
🌻
Everyday Herbalism is a 3 week workshop series on learning different ways to connect, heal with, and integrate plants and herbs into your daily, everyday life.

Kathryn Solie on the importance of poisonous plants in healing the collective🍄🕸🥀🗝🕳..and healing the individual! As we have entered the threshold of a new year, it's in this darkest time that we are initiated into the world of the poison path with teacher Kathryn Solie of . My teacher in plant spirit communication and consciousness, two years ago she opened my heart to the depth of experience and healing that these often maligned plants can offer, as a mirror to our own inner wounds, or even shining a light in the darkness of our pains.

In our conversation we talk about:
🗝 How she arrived to this work, and how Hellebore was the first poisonous plant she met and how she began this path
🖤Kathryn's background in Eastern philosophy and religion, how she sees "poisonous plants as the wrathful deities of the plant kingdom"
🥀Working through blocks and resistance in beginning plant spirit communication
🕸How plants talk to us individually, and collectively. Plants giving us different medicine at different points in our healing journey
🕳“We’re going to keep repeating the patterns out in the world until we heal the pattern within ourselves,” and a discussion on how these plants heal the collective by healing ourselves first
🌚Our personal stories with Monkshood and Datura
🍄 Plants that are needed now: Datura (imitation into shadow work), Giant Hogweed and Poison Ivy (protecting oneself from taking on too much from the collective), Belladonna (divine feminine and s*xual wounds), and Amanita Muscaria (childhood wounds)

Kathryn Solie is an herbalist specializing in ‘poisonous’ plants & plant consciousness, a tarot reader, and a meditation enthusiast. She hopes to give voice to the almost forgotten medicine of ‘poisonous’ plants through her courses and other offerings. Creating communities where people can reconnect with the ancient human lineage of plant spirit communication is at the center of her work.

Introducing TULIP POPLAR for Capricorn Season 🪲🌷🌲
:
This was the community’s intuitive vote for what you need most during Capricorn Season! It makes sense, as a lot of us during this time of year feel burn out or pressure to participate, and our well of energy needs replenishment.
:
If you’ve ever come across a Tulip Poplar in bloom, you’ll never forget it. It’s giant verdant and neon orange blooms almost seem out of place on a tree and survive strong winds and storms. Believe it or not, but this tree isn’t technically in the Poplar family but the Magnolia family of trees. I remember learning from that this tree family has existed long before our humble honey bee and so has co-evolved with beetles as their pollinators. Which explains why this family of flowering trees has such big and heavy flowers to actually support the weigh of their beetle friends 🪲🤯
:
Indeed when I made this last summer beetles were happily hovering around the tree with abundant blooms, I even stumbled across two beetles having s*x in one of the flowers! 🙈 This specific flower is considered so far to possibly have the highest yield of nectar on the continent with an average of 1/3 tsp. Per flower 🤯
:
The inner bark is a warming tonic, often used in inflammation and rheumatic conditions, breaks fevers, expelling parasites, light pains, even fractures and circulation issues. Older uses before modern medicine saw this tree being an aid for treating malaria.
:
I remember a piece of lore stating that Eve plucked the top middle lobe off a tulip poplar leaf on their way out of the Garden of Eden. The tree never grew back that part of its leaf after that, as an explanation for the shape of its leaves, indeed looking like it’s missing a “finger.”
:
What does this plant invoke in you? For me, it’s a wellspring of renewal, rep are tiny us at a deep level of internal support and balancing.
I’m really looking forward to working with this massive energy again along with everyone! If you feel called by Tulip Poplar, please join us at the Flower Essence Subscription. Bottles are shipping out this week!

Foxglove inspired this epic piece that I’ve been working on since August🖤
:
I haven’t had the time, energy, nor inspiration to work on this in a bit, and as a lot of you know following with me for awhile I’ve been navigating a chronic autoimmune disorder that has been affecting my hands. It hurts to use my dominant hand, but lately the pain has shifted and I’m feeling drawn to draw.
:
This piece when complete is meant to surpass the bounds of 2D aesthetics and become a protection ward.
:
Poisonous plants are braided together, the use of knots, thorns, and tricksters entangle those who dare to enter with ill intent.
:
But the piece is morphing in cool ways, and I find when I look down at the paper that a new plant arrived that wanted to be in this piece that I wasn’t expecting. This morning I look down and saw blackthorn arrive on the paper and I’m beginning to trust the magic of this piece more and more each day.
:
Can you name some of the plants you see in here so far?🥀

Introducing Flora Gnosis Mystery School for Sagittarius Season ✨🕳🌿
To me, A Sag stellium native, Sagittarius is the devotion to the magic of discovery. The evergreen quest for not only knowledge, but wisdom. What has driven my work with tarot, astrology, plants, over the years has been DIRECT experiences. So, what better way to understand Sagittarius by becoming students?
This month we are learning directly from the plant itself, without outside influence, expectations, or what others tell us “this plant does this for you.” We step directly into the archetype of Sagittarius and learn intuitive knowledge, or direct gnosis from our personal experience from our time taking the essence. We become students of our own process.
In a way, this month is more of a mentorship as I will offer weekly guidance or invitations for how to deepen your connection to the essence. We’ll come together for our monthly meditation circle after three weeks to share our experiences, and then the name of the plant will be revealed in a magic moment of illumination.
I understand that this experience won’t be for everyone, and I completely respect your boundaries if this is a divine “no” for you.
In the past with my own plant mentors we’ve done this experiment and it had been the best and clearest way to understand the magic of plants AND trust my own magical intuition in the process. Seeing the similarities of others’ experience is what always reminds me that magic is real.
If this is exciting to you, makes you curious, learning how to deepen your plant spirit communication, and for those who are generally interested in how plants can work on a psycho-spiritual level, the doors are open for you to join the Mystery School.✨

*Love Letter to Invasives*

This past month I’ve talked more about invasive plants in personal conversations then I can count, and the major love coming through is the first plant I ever made a flower essence with - Bindweed. A gardener’s common foe.
:
Plants have a purpose beyond being necessary for human life of course, they don’t exist to just serve us. And I see a lot of anger and hatred towards plants just *existing* and doing a job that humans have yet to understand completely. A classic example is poison ivy. Japanese Knotweed, Snakeroot, and so many more are there for a reason.
:
Bindweed and the Convolvulus species (in close allegiance to the psychotropic Morning Glory) are purgatives, cleansing an organism of impurities. It’s thought so far that Bindweed creeps into an ecosystem for a remedial reason - to integrate and aerate disturbed and stressed soil by cleaning it of a wide range of heavy metal contaminants (often due to chemical fertilizers and pesticides). Thus purging the land of chemicals, specially chromium, copper, and cadmium. It’s considered a “nutritional mediator” by Timothy Lee Scott.
:
Scott shares of Bindweed’s ability to “untangle the mind’s knots and tranquilize those who think excessively.” Bringing peace to the heart and mind, I truly do feel like it is a freeing energy as a flower essence. I relate it to the Devil Card in the tarot.
:
Do you have a favorite plant that is considered invasive?

Today is my Mars Return! I noticed the times when encountering other Scorpio Mars natives we’re all pretty proud of our Mars domicile strengths, and who would have thought that Mars would gift me solidarity and group bonding in this way. But, Mars, like any planet, has the capacity to reach us anything.
Congrats to my fellow Scorpio Mars natives, who are also receiving their Mars Return this Autumn!💥 It takes two years for Mars to orbit around the zodiac, finally returning to it natal sign and degree. This ending one cycle, and beginning another 2 year period of growth.
💥
Looking back at who we become during conflict, as well as noticing our relationship to failure and/or success, is the Martian gift. Mars shows us what and how we are willing to fight to achieve our needs, desires, goals. But it also needs clear direction, therefore I think Mars can also show us what we do with our energy when we don’t know where to direct it.
💥
But Mars is a container for energy and how we conduct that orchestra of passion outward into the world.
💥
This recent Mars cycle has taught me a lot, and as such am really happy with my Mars essence reformulation (now on the site!) The new teachers in this Mars attunement blend are Jack-in-the-pulpit, Blackberry, Thyme, Daffodil, and red jasper. Harmonizing our abilities to conquer fears, physically achieve our goals, and fine tune our relationship navigating success/failures.
💥
This recent cycle that I’m completing with Mars today is one where I literally began my journey with poisonous plants with . This path of thorns and bramble felt like a swampy Martian trek to discover myself in fomenting waters being born anew. It’s clearly one I will never forget. Cheers to another 2 year lesson plan with my teacher and sole dispositor Mars!

The poetry of this being’s being teaching us to BE is remarkable. Not to just to witness, but to feel tangled webs within layers of the aura unknot and reknit back together with the glue of forgiveness.
🍄
It feels like I’ve been picking up invisible threads that have fallen long ago, discarded and unwanted, now to recognize their beauty and necessity.
🍄
Still composting guilt, shame, judgement, and all those feelings that exist honestly.
🍄
But, letting these threads’ beauty fully shine in the focal points of this life’s tapestry, not collecting dust on the edges.
🍄
Those living threads transform hurt and pain as they are now embraced, witnessed, validated, or honored.
🍄
There’s more patience and trust present in this tapestry. For the hands weaving, the subject matter, the thread itself, the dyes, the loom, the mistakes along the weft, the cloth that has appeared and the cloth that has yet to come.
🍄
So far others have described Amanita essence as a deep clearing, literally working on bone deep healing and what we are storing deep down internally. So far it’s given me a key to truly FREE my myself, and a lot of it starts from childhood.
🍄
These are the mushrooms I made the essence with last Scorpio Season, nestled within Holly medicine too. Another plant that has a divine presence to me.
🍄
It’s been an honor so far Amanita, so grateful to be a student✨

BIG SHOP RELEASE for the New Moon today! It has been a course correcting process of deepening into my own practice and personal healing over this year and these medicine have been foundational for helping me THRU it. So I am honored to share them all with you today✨
The biggest and most exciting part of this drop is the reformulation of the planetary essences! After having two more years of flower essence case studies since creation, the range of essences are gently shifted in formula for deeper assimilation and more specific intentions for healing.
Some favorite formulas of mine are now Pluto, Venus, Mars, and the Sun 🌻
For those struggling thru grief and darkness ~ I offer you “Light in the Darkness,” a Mimosa and Linden extraction
General anxiety and nervous system stimulation I offer you Nyx Glycerite, one that almost sold out at this past weekend’s event. It’s also alcohol free 🌟
For fear of the unknown, Fortuna Drops. Walnut and Iris essences suspended in lemon balm and tulsi glycerite ~ tastes amazing!
There are a few more surprises in there like bitters, new and improved batch of Vena Cava rose elixir, and Imposter Syndrome.🦋
May this humble collection of transformative allies grant you access and permission to hold yourself through crisis and change.
Don’t hustle through healing

ANCHORING ALLIES FOR COLLAPSE 🌀 the medicine I make is for people, like me, who are moving through collapse, grief, and oversensitivity. It’s an experiment - ever evolving - in co-creation with the plants that have helped me continue to navigate the complexity of being a human.
I realize I’m recuperating from actually being burnt out most of my adult life (and I know I’m not alone) and grieving not just my father, but the loss of a past self, as I physically can’t output what I used to be able to. But that’s ok, and I’m working on not feeling guilty about it.
As we move closer to the New Year (Samhain) I’ll be doing a MAJOR shop update BUT I will debuting new and old favorites in person at Sat, Oct 30th slinging potent medicine.
Light in the Darkness ~ a Mimosa and Linden concoction to move through depression with understanding rather than bypassing
Fortuna Drops ~ walnut, Iris, and chrysocolla essences suspended in a tulsi and lemon balm glycerite which feels like the medicine for everyone in 2021
Other allies that have been immensely helpful for me this year:
🌀Monkshood, Daffodil, and Foxglove flower essences
🌼Dandelion root tea for heartburn and indigestion
🍄Amanita forever and always
🌳Oak and the grass under my feet
I’m immensely grateful for the privilege to be able to be around these plants, but to me they are more like teachers. The simple act of connecting to plants and nature may merely serve to momentarily help us cope, but it doesn’t mean it’s not full of potential to revolutionize our future.
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks at what is coming to my shop in time for Samhain 🥀

I always find myself when I draw. In the cycles of my own becoming, seasons of self understanding, my art evolves, and I love being able to look back and remember where I was when I drew something.
This piece will be for a block printed scarf, as a piece of wearable protection magic and I’m digging how it’s coming out so far🐍
