Hooray for some warmer weather and sun!!!! ☀️

As the weather begins to change, make every effort to get outside with your children. The sun establishes each person’s circadian rhythm. This reminds the body when to stop the cortisol production and encourages proper melatonin levels.

If you’re finding you need to give your child melatonin before bed it’s possible changes should be made to your child’s sleep needs throughout the day. 😴

Testimonial Tuesday! Meet this sweet little bunny Luca 💙 Luca’s parents Mike and Mandy called me as Luca was transitioning from the newborn to baby phase.

Weeks 13-16 can bring a number of challenges as baby learns new skills. At this time, parents are also desperate for a full nights sleep.

Luca has two older sisters so everyone was ready for him to sleep 11-12 hours per night and nap longer then 45 minutes 😳 Luca really fought dropping the final night feeding and long naps but I kept encouraging Mike and Mandy to trust the process. Within a few weeks, we learned Luca prefers to stretch his awake time and needs time to wake up for 30 minutes before consuming his next bottle. Once we figured him out, he began sleeping through the night and consistently napping 💪🏻

Thank you for trusting me with your beautiful family! 🥰😴👶🏻

Do you have a baby that will only nap 35-45 minutes? Ahhhhh!!! This is called “the 45 minute intruder!” 😩

This post explains why… baby sleep cycles are only 45 min in length. At which point, your baby will come to the surface of sleep.

If baby wakes up happy, then time to get up. If baby wakes crying, more sleep is needed.

Wait 15 minutes before intervening to see if your baby can fall back asleep (watch your baby on the video monitor for safety) and connect two sleep cycles! 🙏🏻

This takes practice, keep trying at the end of each nap to extend the length. This process will promote sleep independence ultimately helping your baby sleep through the night. 🎉❤️😴

Testimonial Tuesday! Meet sweet Grace-Evangeline ❤️ This cutie pie was fighting independent sleep with every effort. She would only sleep for long periods of time on mom or dad, naps occurred in her reclined high chair, and she would only sleep in her crib after the dreaded transfer (most of the time she woke up and the process began again). Ahhhh! Needless to say, everyone was exhausted.

Spencer and Patricia put their trust in the sleep plan and successfully removed all of Grace-Evangeline’s sleep props. Once Grace-Evangeline realized her crib was a place for her to sleep independently and began taking age appropriate naps throughout the day our girl began sleeping 11 hours each night!

I am so proud of this beautiful family! Thank you for trusting me with your baby 🥰❤️😴

Testimonial Tuesday! Meet sweet Nicholas! Nicholas is in kindergarten and a little brother to his big brother Ben. His parents Dan and Michelle called me because Nicholas would wake up every two hours looking for dad and finally dad would just co-sleep so he could get some sleep. It was survival mode and everyone was “over it.”
This situation required a gentle approach to slowly get dad out of Nicholas’ bedroom. Within 3 weeks, Nicholas was successfully sleeping through the night with confidence and no longer looking for dad! I am so proud of this family for sticking to and executing this sleep plan. Everyone is now more rested and happy 🎉😴💙

It’s Tuesday! Meet Grace! ❤️ She is baby number three for parents Dave and Sarah. She has older twin sisters who keep her very busy so sleep was a priority for her.

Grace was transitioning between the newborn and baby phase when her mom called me. So many changes happen between 12 weeks-4 months that it can be challenging to navigate. I’m so happy Sarah called me.

Transitioning swaddle to sleep sack, dropping nighttime feedings, rolling, ditching the pacifier, etc…. It is a lot!!!! 😳 I came up with a sleep plan that worked really well for all to achieve with 3 very young children. Grace responded well and in one week mom had to wake Grace in the morning to eat. 12 hours of sleep!!!! 🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️

—> Final Photo: I rarely get the opportunity to see my sleep babies in person. Majority of my sleep families work with me virtually so this was a rare and rewarding day! I loved hugging sweet Grace 🥰

Happy Tuesday! Meet handsome Julian! 💙 Mom and Dad contacted me a few weeks ago in the midst of the newborn phase desperate for sleep. Although, I don’t officially sleep train until a baby is 13 weeks old and 13lbs in weight I was happy to get their family on a nice sleep routine that would encourage natural sleep training.

As new parents, they were nervous but I encouraged them to trust the process. We focused most of our efforts on getting Julian adequate calories during the day and appropriate daytime sleep to encourage the “long sleep” at night. Within a few nights, Julian was sleeping longer stretches at night and napping longer and more effectively. By night 13 , Julian was 10 weeks old and slept from 8:30pm-7am!!!! We were all thrilled and so proud of Julian. 😴🎉🥰

It’s Tuesday!!!! From the first moment I spoke to Jill on the phone, I knew we would be a good match. We were twin moms fighting the good fight and I couldn’t wait to help her and her husband Ed get their twin boys sleeping through the night 🙏🏻🙏🏻💙💙

Being parents of multiples is challenging most days but add in sleep deprivation and it’s a recipe for disaster. At 11 months old, Wyatt and Rhett were waking multiple times per night, demanding night time feedings, and not consistently napping during the day. Dad was convinced his sons would never take to the sleep plan. To his surprise, within 5 days both boys were sleeping 12 hours each night and a few days later napping twice per day for over an hour (sometimes two hours)!!!

These little guys not only thrived on the structured schedule but also learned how to sleep in their nursery together without disturbing one another. I am so proud of the progress this family made in a few short weeks! Now the boys have lots of energy to keep up with their big sister.🥰

Video Monitor Photo… Twinning!!!! 💙💙 Sleeping in the same position at the same exact time!

Congratulations on your bundle of joy!!! The cuteness and snuggles never wear off but sleep deprived nights most certainly do 😩

If you are currently in the newborn phase or what I refer to as “survivor mode,” realize each week gets easier as your little one begins consolidating sleep.

Follow the eat, play, then sleep routine with appropriate awake windows and soon your entire household will be sleeping more 🙏🏻💪🏻😴

❤️❤️❤️ This post was inspired by my new niece who was born at the end of May! We love you Lucy Rose!!!

Learning how to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the entire night is a skill each child must learn. For some it comes easier then others.

Rolling, crawling, walking, and riding a bike are milestones children accomplish at varying ages. Learning to fall asleep is the same. Some will need very little parental support and others will need extra assistance. A few will even need professional help and that’s where I come in 🤓

Do not wait until you hit rock bottom to contact me. Help is just around the corner, you just need to ask. Everyone deserves a full nights rest to feel their very best 🤗

Boring = Safe Sleep!!!! I cannot stress this enough… all baby needs is a crib & sleep sack/swaddle. This holds true until 18 months old when it’s appropriate to add a pillow and blanket.

*If you’d still like to have a mobile in your baby’s nursery, put it over the changing table! This is much more logical 🤓 Keeps baby distracted during diaper changes. Mobiles are too stimulating for sleep and unsafe once baby begins standing and can grab it.

I often get asked about keeping kids on a good sleep routine during a sickness. Here are a few tips…

🤮 Stomach bug, I go into survival mode like most parents until it ends with lots of Lysol. I allow napping the following day and back to the normal routine the following night.

😷 A virus or cold, I battle throughout the day or days with age appropriate Tylenol/Motrin and then before bed I give a warm bath, put a cool mist humidifier in the room, apply chest rub, use a boogie sucker, and prop my child’s head up a bit for sleep (pillow ONLY for 18 months+). Once in bed, if any night wakings occur I allow my child to work through it unless I need to do a late night bo**er sucker.

🤒 An infection! For my kids, this is clear because the night wakings are frequent (which isn’t common) and it is usually combined with an elevated temperature. In this case, I tend to night wakings but plan a doctors visit for the next day!

In simple terms, you know your child best so care for them when needed. However, be mindful not to start any bad habits or a sleep regression may occur. 😴

Testimonial Tuesday! Meet Logan!!! Logan’s parents contacted me when he was 6 months old to solidify nighttime sleep and find a daily routine that improved naps throughout the day. I am happy to say this little guy slept like a champ until around 22 months until he had a few bad colds and ear infections. Logan required some extra care at night which led to a minor sleep regression at bedtime. Logan’s parents Kevin and Caitlin reached out to me for a refresher phone call and together we were able to get him back on track. Logan just celebrated his second birthday and mom and dad couldn’t be more proud! 💙🎉💤

Working with me is an investment… once you pay the big bucks for the initial sleep plan a quick refresher phone call in the future is only $40! These are my favorite calls. I love checking on my sleep babies ❤️ Most aren’t babies anymore 🥹
