Our 5th graders enjoy learning about the world by watching the CNN 10 each morning. Their reaction seems to say they were pleased with this special shout-out from Coy Wire today! Special thanks to Mrs. Switalksi and SalSports for making this happen!

The CHS Jazz Ensemble and other bands wow’d the crowd at our annual winter band concert on Thursday. Thank you to Mr. Talford and our students for giving the audience all sorts of warm fuzzies for the holiday season! #CentuarMusic

Please enjoy the CHS Chorale and Choir singing ‘Carol of Bells’
Enjoy the sounds of the season brought to you by the CHS Chorale and Choir who performed at the Buffalo State University “Winter Choral Spectacular” at Rockwell Hall on 12.7.23 under the direction of CHS choral director, Karen Saxon.

Please enjoy the CHS alma mater as played by Curtis “Fitz” Williams ‘80 and CHS Vocal Music Director, Mrs. Karen Saxon. Fun Factoid: Fitz and Mrs. Saxon met for the first time yesterday but realized they both grew up studying piano under the exceptional instruction of Mr. Alfred Jarrett 🎹🎶🙏 #ProudAndStrong

This morning, our grades 5-8 students, and high schoolers with a passion for vocal music, were treated to a concert by the University of Rochester’s Midnight Ramblers A capella group. After the concert, students in our middle and high school chorale participated in a workshop with group members. Charlie Morse ‘20, a CHS and IB Diploma graduate, is a member of the Ramblers (and is featured in this clip). Thank you to music teachers, Mrs. Saxon and Mr. Sharratt for helping to arrange this wonderful event for our students.

We welcomed our new teachers with some pep and fanfare at yesterday’s training day!#CelebrateEducatorsLikeRockStars #CentaurProud #RockofMountPelion

A KC-135 from 914th Niagara Falls Air Base and three F-35s from Vermont flew over Buffalo-Niagara Medical Campus and Fosdick Field today to honor medical staff and first responders. Buffalo Schools (You can see a second video, with a nice shot of CHS at the end, in the comments section.)

During break, Mrs. Banas, our IB Diploma Program Coordinator, and nine other chaperones are taking a group of almost 70 students and parents on a tour of Italy. Yesterday, the group got as close as "regular people" can get to Pope Francis, and then were thrilled when they heard "City Honors School, Buffalo, New York," read aloud. CHS was the very last group announced – after dozens of others were in the language of where they came from.

One of many great performances yesterday was The China Style performed by Nick Gorman '17 and Hannah Keller '16.
