Join us tomorrow, Saturday, July 20th, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at Flying Tigers headquarters, located at 100 Amherst Villa Road (adjacent to the airport). You'll have the opportunity to get an up-close look at Mercy Flight helicopters, ambulance, fly car, and meet our dedicated crew members.

We're thrilled to announce that the US National Weather Service Buffalo NY will be participating and will launch a weather balloon at 1:30 p.m. The US Coast Guard will also be present with their 26’ boat, and the Erie County Sheriff's Office K9 unit will be providing demonstrations and displaying their helicopter, Air 1. Additionally, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Fire Department, situated next to Mercy Flight, will be opening their doors to visitors.

Exciting Updates from Mercy Flight's Springville Base! 🚑

We are thrilled to announce that we have replaced one of our in-service ambulances with a brand new, state-of-the-art vehicle to better serve our community!

Our Springville base currently operates with 3 in-service ambulances and maintains a 4th as a spare to guarantee seamless service at all times. We are also anticipating the arrival of another new ambulance soon. This continuous upgrade of our fleet is part of our commitment to offering the best possible emergency medical services to the Springville and surrounding communities.

Today, we celebrate and honor the incredible work of our paramedics and those around the world. We are grateful for your service and dedication today and every day. Your bravery and commitment do not go unnoticed.

Mercy Flight will be hosting a ConnectLife Blood Drive at its Buffalo Headquarters at 100 Amherst Villa Road in Cheektowaga this Wednesday (July 10th) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All donors will receive a ConnectLife ball cap and a voucher from Fattey Beer Co. (donors aged 21+). In addition, blood donors during the month of July will be put in a special weekly raffle for 4 pairs of tickets to the Buffalo Bills Training Camp. The tickets will include an exclusive viewing area, food, and drinks!

Recently, the Olean Oilers ⚾️ visited our Olean Base 🚁! The team will be donating a portion of each ticket sold to their Saturday, June 29th game, as part of their First Responders Day, to Mercy Flight.

Recently, Joe Saeli, an advocate and member of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) presented ESGR's Above and Beyond Award to Margaret Ferrentino, President of Mercy Flight. This award recognizes employers who go above and beyond their legal responsibilities to support employees who are Reserve or National Guard members. Mercy Flight was nominated by one of its pilots, Matt Doorley, a Reserve member and a combat veteran. The ESGR is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) office that promotes supportive work environments for Reserve and National Guard service members. Its mission is to increase awareness of laws which protect members' jobs when they are called for active duty. It also provides assistance in resolving conflicts between service members and employers. Just 13 days into being inservice CBFD’s new LifePAK CR2 AED’s have already made an impact!

Today CBFD crews along with Mercy Flight EMS responded to an unresponsive person.

CBFD arrived on scene in less than 3 minutes and determined the patient was in cardiac arrest. The AED was used and the patient regained pulses and was able to communicate with first responders.

The patient was transferred to the hospital via Mercy Flight.

The new AEDs (automated external defibrillators) were placed in service on May 31st. These LifePAK CR2’s replaced older models previously carried by CBFD.

We are keeping the patient in our thoughts and wish them a continued recovery.
