Steel is rolling in for the new indoor facility today. We do not know when they will be finished, so we suggest that everyone go directly to the NFTA Lot if you plan on parking tonight

It is with sadness we have learned of the passing of our friend Rusty Agostino. Rusty was a long-time coach at Shoshone and dedicated his life to coaching baseball, with his wife Lori at his side the entire time. We pray for peace for his family and friends in their time of grief.

As a league we have been dealing with a continued high number of complaints about illegal parking on Parkside Court and Shoshone St. Based on the pictures we have been sent we do not blame the residents of these streets one bit, as the level of selfishness in terms of blocking driveways, blocking fire hydrants, and making it impossible for residents to get in or out of their driveways is hard to believe. The neighbors have been incredibly patient and just want to find a way to work together to resolve this.

We lack solutions as we have sent emails and made frequent announcements during the games politely asking everyone to respect our neighbors and not park illegally.

As a result of this lack of cooperation Buffalo Parking will now be enforcing illegal parking in this area after their usual hours during the week and on weekends.

We again urge you to use the NFTA lot during the construction of our indoor facility.

The individual who used our dumpster as his own has come forward and claimed responsibilty, and has also offered the league a generous donation. We have removed the original post from our feed, thank you to everyone who offered their assistance.

Tomorrow we have our opening day. The parade will be a blast, but we also will be honoring our long time leader. Opening Day was the favorite day of the year for Don Morris. We should all remember everything he has done for the league

I am excited to announce that the Buffalo Common Council has unanimously approved a resolution to name the baseball diamonds at Shoshone Park “Don Morris Fields at Shoshone Park” to honor the late Don Morris for his contributions to the City of Buffalo and Hertel North Park Youth Baseball League where he served as president of the Hertel North Park Youth Baseball League for over three decades.

Don Morris was the heart and soul of the Hertel North Park Youth Baseball League for over three decades. His dedication to the development of young athletes and his unwavering commitment to fostering teamwork and leadership were unmatched. Renaming the fields at Shoshone Park in his honor is a beautiful tribute to his legacy of service and excellence.

Today’s park cleanup is POSTPONED to NEXT SATURDAY @ 10am.

Please do not come. You will do more harm than good to the fields and park.

Welcome to the 2024 Hertel North Park Youth Baseball and Softball season.

This email is to inform you of the parking situation at Shoshone for 2024. As many of you are well aware the Fieldhouse is being constructed, and we current be more excited. As such, a large portion of the parking lot is now being used as a staging area for construction. We highly recommend that if you live in the neighborhood, you walk, bike or be dropped off. If you must drive, please use the NFTA lot for the duration of this summer. There are some parking spots available at Shoshone but we would like them to be reserved for the elderly, the disabled, and/or our volunteers. There is nowhere to turn around this year in the lot. The lot is limited to two rows of parking. If you will be dropping off, we recommend you do so at the Hertel, Parkside Court, or NFTA Lot entrances.

Please do not block the driveways of our neighbors on Shoshone or Parkside Court. Do not double park or park illegally on these streets. Treat the neighborhood as you would your own.

Please pass this information on to any guests you may invite to watch your children play this summer.

In the next few days our division heads will complete the team selection process and our schedulers’ will complete the practice schedules. The regular season schedules will be completed within the next week or two. You will receive separate emails when this work is complete.
