Charter Buford’s Mens Club in May had a few more gentleman join as Marcus McDaniel with Olive Branch hosted once again with pizza, beer, wine & soft drink refreshments

Here we are at Charter Buford. Another day another exercise!

A huge thank you to Marcus McDaniel with Olive Branch Pallative Hospice!
Each month Charter Buford holds The Mens Club and Marcus is always there to host it with pizza and dessert. We also provide alcohol and nonalcoholic refreshments!

The men have enjoyed reminiscing about the past and talking about the present and future. In the last meeting they were asked what advice would the give to young people of today? The answers were really interesting. One senior said always be true to your self. Another advantage of the knowledge provided and get a good education! This is a great group of men who enjoy each other and their time together.

In honor of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Let us never forget freedom isn't free.

Oh my gosh we really enjoyed this concert show put on by Buford H.S. Performing Arts students! There is soooooo much talent. There were quite a few young ladies and gentleman singing and acting at times you would forget these were high school students. What a great show and way to go out of April into May.

One of two trips we enjoy going to Jaemore Farms in Alto Ga outside of Gainesville at the foothills of the Appalachian Mts. Spring and Fall are the best times we love to go!

Afterwards we go up the road for for lunch at BBQ at Mickey Piggs before heading back home.

Happy Birthday to our April residents

Marie is the daughter of one of Charters seniors. Marie calls bingo pretty much every day of the week in the evenings after dinner!

Enjoyed our Farmer Market to Lenard’s. Lenard is the owner and we have be come friends. The residents enjoyed free fresh coffee an hot coco.

We also met a young man who offered to help with getting residents on board the bus! The LED asked to get a picture and after talking with him found out that he was a policeman for Cobb county for 3 years.

Getting our exercise for the day!

Painting more rocks for the veggie,herbs and sunflowers. We used the paint pens which are really cool and fun to use., with minimal mess and cleanup!

Charter Senior Living's very own Amber Dahle, CDP was presented with a Memory Care Innovation Award🏆️ at the 2024 BRAIN Memory Care Conference in Chicago, IL. This award recognizes Amber as a trailblazer in memory care! We are so proud of Amber and this remarkable achievement!

It's National Nurses Week! Thank you to all our nurses, our residents who were nurses and our family members who are nurses. Your dedication and compassion continue to enhance the human spirit! We appreciate you and thank you for all you do!

So we did our Tuesday shopping, but in the afternoon this time. It was such a nice day and the residents really did not want to go back yet. So one of asked if we could stop for ice cream?

Cont: Earth Day and tie-dye shirts we created!

Here we are on Earth Day staff and residents planting our donated butterfly bushes. It eas a beautiful day of sunshine and a gentle breeze and in the background Mother Nature displays her array of green trees, grass and bushes against a blue sky!

Also being displayed are some of the colorful tie-dye shirts some staff and residents created and purchased to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Foundation The Longest Day June 21st!

It was a bitter sweet day as staff and residents all gathered around to wish Rex the best with him retiring. Rex is one in a million was is loved and respected by all! His wife Sharon was by is side as we all wished him the best. Everyone signed a card with their well wishes for him to take and read through out his golden years as to not forget us here at Charter Senior Living of Buford.

The topic presented to the senior men was ( What kind of advice would you like to share with young people from your experiences with life) There were some some touching and heartfelt experiences shared by the men that certainly are worth taking under advisement.
