When the past is impacting your current or future projectory, understanding the WHY behind the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors brings it to your awareness and allows you to process, heal, and change. 💫
Perhaps growing up, you assumed the responsibility of maintaining the emotional connection and closeness with your parents/loved ones. This is often because they lacked the emotional maturity, awareness, and control to provide you with the deep understanding and emotional connection you needed. You probably avoided “rocking the boat” by keeping your inner feelings and thoughts to yourself, and apologizing when your opinions/actions made them upset. Remember, it’s OK to disagree, it’s OK to have different values and belief systems, and it’s OK if others don’t get it. Stop apologizing. Like and share if you agree. ❤️
Are you used to dating emotionally unavailable and avoidant individuals who lead you on a roller coaster of emotions, causing you to question your value and self-worth in relationships? If so, you may find yourself feeling “bored” when you actually date someone who is stable and emotionally regulated. Bear in mind, this is probably a reaction to feeling internally calm and secure, and NOT a sign that you lack “passion” in the relationship. Hyper-arousal/vigilance due to emotional highs and lows is not passion. Don’t let your brain confuse the two.❤️
