Many people in the world today struggle with feelings of loneliness and abandonment. They may feel that no one is there for them, that they are unloved and forgotten. But as believers, we can find comfort and hope in the faithfulness of God, as we see in Isaiah 54:5. Let us dive deeper into this verse and learn how God's faithfulness can bring us assurance and peace in our lives.

SAVED TO SERVE SERIES P. 2: "FROM GRACE TO GOOD WORKS"

Introduction:
Today, we will explore one of the Bible's most beloved passages – Ephesians 2:8-10. These verses remind us of the incredible grace of God that has saved us and transformed our lives. As we dive deeper into this passage, may our hearts be open to receive the truth of God's Word.

Scripture Reading:
For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:8-10 NKJV).

What is Jesus anointed to do?

Luke 4:18-19 - "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, have you ever faced a situation where it seemed like nothing was going your way? Despite your efforts and hard work, you faced failure, disappointment, and obstacles that seemed insurmountable. It is in these moments that our faith and determination are truly tested. Today, we will look at Proverbs 24:16 and learn how to stay persistent in the face of adversity.

Who is Jesus to you? You fill in the blank and the Holy will be our teacher.

This message speaks about the principle of generosity and its powerful impact on our lives. Let us open our hearts and minds to receive this powerful truth from the Word of God.

In James 2:17, we are challenged to not only have faith but to also back it up with action. This passage teaches us the importance of putting our faith into action and how it affects our relationship with God. Let us open our hearts and minds to this powerful message and be inspired to live out our faith in tangible ways.

We will be diving into Hebrews 12:1-3 and exploring the theme of perseverance and endurance in our faith. This passage reminds us of the race that we are called to run as believers and how we should run it with endurance, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus. Just like an athlete running a race, we too must train, persevere, and endure until we reach the finish line. Let us open our hearts and minds to hear what God has to say to us through this passage.

Eddie Fordham was barely 18 when he entered prison. He served 31 years, 2 months, and 8 days. He approached his time in prison like a college student pursuing a degree. He was accepted into the Miami Dade College “Second Chance Pell Grant” program. In 2022, Miami Dade College bestowed upon Eddie its prestigious Academic Excellence Award, making him the first system-impacted student to receive the award. Also while incarcerated, Eddie was Senior Counselor of The Dr. Regina B. Shearn Corrections Transition Program (CTP-FIU) where he oversaw daily operations and parole preparation for more than 100 successfully paroled men who served Life sentences, and their recidivism rate is less than 2% — the lowest in the nation!

Released in April 2022, Eddie went back to college to earn his AA degree with a 4.0 GPA, and made the Deans List.

Because of his lived experience Eddie was asked to speak at the 10th anniversary of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC), and at the 2023 National Conference for Jobs for the Future, where he spoke on the importance of unlocking barriers to higher education in prison. He is also a Florida Attorney General’s National Crime Prevention Conference speaker, and shares his message “Choose Your Friends Wisely” with other youth, telling them the truth about the consequences of crime and false friends.

When it comes to his successful transition to a life of freedom, Eddie has this to say: Christ is my redeemer, and he healed my broken spirit even as

I was in broken places—the places where I go now to mentor others.
